I'm running stock Jelly Bean that was pushed to my phone recently. The battery performance is the only thing killing this phone for me.

I hear that from all my friends who own the GNex. Try getting Franco kernel. I heard that helps a lot.

I love my galaxy nexus.

Battery gets me through the day without issue. I've not rooted it.

Re: all the living at home.

I did it the summer after graduating in '09, it was awesome because I wasn't paying rent, saw all my buddies, made enough to buy playtoys and cruise craigslist for cheap project bikes. Tons of trips, only spent 2 weekends actually home.

I had a bs job fixing up apartments down the street, and I'll never forget when my boss came to me and told me to go get a real job. He knew I was just pissing my summer away and living it up.

All that being said, that November after saving up over the summer, moved down to Raleigh NC with a college buddy on a whim, just needed to start on my own. Rent was ~400 /month, it was a sh*tty apt but it got me out of my hometown, out of my comfort zone. I got a crappy job as an auto tech, (terrible job market when I graduated, worthless degree and no experience ruled out a legit job). I wasn't making any money, maybe 1200 a month. But it got me out and living, exploring a new city and doing what I wanted.

Moral of the story/TL;DR: Living on your own is surprisingly easy I found, making rent and still finding a lil extra cash to explore the city. Find a roomie, get out and get weird.

I might be wrong but I think this was made easier by your location. To me it doesn't seem like the average income for folks in their 20s starting out scales quite the same as the cost of living.

Ah well, life's good now of I don't have to do any upkeep in this apartment, just call maintenance and no need to cut grass in the GA heat lol.

Not to mention my internet doesn't suck now, then again that may have been orchestrated to get me out of the house as well lol.
Rooming with someone else is always a good alternative in cutting down the cost of rent

And @Chewie4299 it does suck living close to nyc since here and la are the most expensive places to live in the us.. But I really liked calum's advice. Thinking long term(home ownership) rather than short term(apartments) would actually be really good...but there's a lot of factors to consider with something like that.. :/
But don't forget as the others said, there's nothing wrong with getting a roomie, if anything just wait till the timing works out and you find the right person. Also Craigslist - is your friend... Unless you are a woman trying to sell a special kind of service

@Chewie4299 are you in Stamford ct? If so you're in a similar boat as me, you can probably snag a studio for a little more than 1k a month, a 2br would be around 2k... Its Pretty shitty(I didn't realize ct ranks up among the top most expensive places to live)
I'm not sure about the surrounding areas tho? .. It might be a little less.. But even than shit is fucking retarded. That's alot of $$$

Now I really want to build an electric RX-8. Sure it'd be expensive and excruciatingly involved but it'd be so much fun. Just imagine a HV Warp 11", Warp Industrial, 288v pack of 70 AH CALB batteries. Probably $15k just for the BEV parts but it'd be worth it. What to call it? Maybe EX-8?
