I wish to report my BRZ, Forester, favorite Springer motorcycle, scooter, etc. survived the California, Lake/Napa County, Valley Fire at our main home, where the fire stopped, miraculously, a very short distance from our backyard.

However, our small ranch (five (5) miles away) burned to the ground and along with it, my large automobile, motorcycle, electronics, wood working, metal workshop / garage, with dropped floor for working underneath cars, engine lift, and all the stuff in it.

I lost some of my best vehicles, including my classic MZB 250C lowrider, that was about to be bagged, one of my primo Harley-Davidson motorcycles, etc., etc., etc. … with a ‘crap load’ of tools, and custom car / motorcycle parts.

We stayed with friends in Napa, California … and to the owner of a Black BRZ with diffuser, parked in a parking lot near SB, on Main St. (in Napa) == it was me in the CWP Forester who waved and gave thumbs up to your most excellent choice in automobiles !

The below photograph is taken from inside our second floor dining room, through the sliding door leading to one of the decks, at the house that survived, == minutes before we were able to get out with only the clothes on our back.

When we did leave, the fire was taller than the pictured telephone pole, or tree to the right of it, and illuminated the entire rear of our home, like it was daylight with the sun shining. What looks like snowflakes are burning embers and ash raining from the sky.

It took over a week to find out if our surviving home and my BRZ with 723 miles on it had burned.

May you never experience what we experienced, ever (word)!

I did the clutch spring delete and adjusted the hight of the pedal. I am pretty happy with the result. My only concern is that it still does not shift flawlessly into 2nd and sometimes 3rd.

I also plugged the sound generator with my 12V plug, Also a great improvement. I always thought it sounded somewhat artificial and unnecessary.

Improvement in what way?
What do you mean by 12V plug?

The intake sound is being channeled into the cabin. There is an opening in the passenger footwell. I plugged it with the plastic cap that was a left over when I installed my dashcam. I used the power outlet behind the glovebox and used the cap to plug the hole, a perfect fit and easily reversible.

Apologies for my ignorance :-)
So less sound goes into the cabin? Does that mean more sound outside?

No problem,
Just less sound in the cabin. There is a thread about the sound generator here. I accomplished the same by just plugging it.
I drove it a while without the plug, than tried it a couple of days with the plug installed and then took the plug out it again. I definitely prefer it with the plug in the hole (and less sound in the cabin when accelerating).

Have been researching whether to purchase wheels and tires OR a supercharger kit with the Alaska Permanent Fund that will be released to all Alaskan Residents on the first of next month.

Cosmetic or Performance...

New Sidemarker LEDs and lenses

So I went and installed these. Connected right up to the existing driver side marker light wires and ground, and then one wire up to the blinker. Load resistor is built in so they work like a charm and in perfect sync with the front blinker.

The smoked color looks great with the magnetic grey color of the car as well.

Welp.. bought a sewing machine and expected to fail.

Butttttt.. YouTube has millions of tutorials. This was my first attempt at a french seam.

This was some cheap material at Joann Fabrics. The color is off.. and I bet UV will kill it. Indoor fabric.

Here is a much nicer marine vinyl on the left. It's blacker than the interior, but looks fantastic compared to the Joann Fabric. I only had a sample.

Working on rounded multi-pieces now.. tough. You guys should try
