Agreed. Look at how saggy that sideskirt is on the mule. Definitely there to throw off the design hidden underneath.

to be fair most sport cars have this basic side profile. to me the car in question has a longer hood when compared to the 86.

Someone with photoshop can do a quick silhouette overlay. Since we don't have an accurate sense so scale on the covered car, I would do two overlays: one with the wheelbases scaled to match, and one with the rooflines scaled to match.
