Depending on what they want, Porsche may just settle because it's cheaper, just like in 2006.

Judging by how Porsche handled that damn Brit and his broken ass 991 videos, I don't see them settling. The dude ran out of talent on super old tires and crashed his CGT. End of story. Porsche and CGT fans of the world should be suing the family for him destroying one. I would never track a CGT. They are for admiring and taking on weekend cruises.

I know, but it is more like a targa and not a coupe.

, but I can imagine this being the case. GT3s are meant to be track cars and they're much cheaper than CGTs. Better tool for the job IMO.

My goal when I purchased my FR-S was to make it as powerful as an S2000. My FR-S handled great but man it needed a kick in the pants in the acceleration dept. So I installed some basic mods like a drop in HKS filter, PLM overpipe, DC Sports test pipe, Invidia Q300 cat-back, OFT and lastly a tank of E85. Uploaded an OTS (off the shelf) stage 2 EL E85 onto my OFT and reflashed my ECU. Power was pretty awesome and to my surprise, I pulled at least 6 cars on an AP2 S2000 from 10mph to 80ish mph today. Mission accomplished.

I DD'd a S2000 for 7 years and ~100k miles. I loved the car and was obsessed with it, but a few things I hated:
1. The soft top. The car looks like crap with the top up. Plus I always worried about it getting slashed and seats stolen. And it wears out over time and pricey to replace. 2. No back seats and small trunk. 3. Bad in snow. This applies to all rwd sports cars. When I was car shopping I was looking to get another S2000 but it is very hard to find the desired color combo, with decently low mileage, in unmolested condition, at a reasonable price. I remember looking at 07s with above 50k miles for mid twenties, that's just insane. In 2004 I bought my 2000 S2000 (gray w\ red interior) with 18k miles, mint condition, for $22k! So I began considering alternatives. My brother recommended the BRZ but the first thing I shut it down for was the power, and no turbo. But on a random day I was bored and decided to go test drive one for the hell of it. The BRZ reminded me so much of the S2000, it has that cockpit feel, nice lightweight chassis, and the rwd. It did not feel like a 200hp car. So after my drive I told the salesman to find me a 6spd manual Limited in white and he said ok. We discussed price and that was it. Two days later he calls and says one just came in on a truck that he didn't even know about. I said hold it for me, left work early the next day to sign the papers and drive the car home and that was it. Will be a year in 3 days and I'm still smiling. Sorry for the long story lol |
