Maybe that's why the sta-bil always works for me. I always have a couple cocktails before I fire up the boat.

Don't over fill. Click, click, click up to the fuel neck and you'll flood the evap can.
That's bad.

edit: Fuel degradation results primarily from random atmospheric ions of one sort or another.
If the tank is full in a closed system (inoperative) for a year or two, you should be fine.
Water in the bottom of a plastic gas tank won't amount to a hill of beans.
Splashing about with alcohol once back on the road will remove it along with the old gas.
I only do one click after the first click to verify it wasn't a false click. lol.

So you're saying to not worry about it then. Gotcha.

I guess if you're not having any issues driving your car with gas from Feb, I wouldn't worry about it. I've just been following what ever my dad told me, which is probably old information anyway lol

It's all in maturity level. Easier to say to "drive within your ability" now that you are older and wiser vs when you've got hormones raging in your body and friends you are trying to impress.

However, it does draw in ambient atmosphere when fuel is drawn from the tank.
H20 comes in with it however much that it doesn't go back out even harder.
There's no dry nitrogen or argon doing anything here.
That'd be more like having to add blue pee to your diesel systems to keep it running.

Observe that there is no venting in the spiffy diagram.
That would implode the gas tank by the time you used a 1/4 of the fuel.

Aircraft mfg. would be all over it if they could make it work reliably.
Still have to cup the lowest point of the fuel system to check for water before flight.

There is also no return line shown in that diagram which would provide the make up air to the tank. No implosion. The point was that yes humid air is drawn in through a solenoid valve while the car is operating but the system is closed when shut off. There is not a constant exchange of air going on that allows more moisture to enter and fuel to evaporate.

The risk of moisture in the aircraft fuel is more related to the sudden and extreme changes in temperature from climbing and the risk of even the smallest amount freezing in the lines at altitude.

Not sure just how much water people seem to think will condense in a 10 gallon tank even if left wide open for decades. I have heard this so many times on the internet but never even ran into a single tank in any of my old car restorations that had condensation issues. Metal tanks that sat empty for 20 years were bone dry and still perfect inside. The outside may be rotted to hell but the insides were like new.

Yeah. Only pointing out a (very) tiny imprecision. 8)

A dry tank won't sweat because the temperature will equalize very quickly.
A half full vented tank will act as a cold sink and come up to temp only slowly on a hot day.

In the twins, the amount of water vapor will be minuscule and not really something to spend time or neurons over.
Until someone takes a whiz in the filler. But who would do that (sharp shufty).

Fuel is less likely to break down over a long period if the surface area is only a couple square inches in the neck as opposed to several square feet in a less than full tank.
