Yes, there is quite a power kick on the butt dyno when you get tuned properly with a UEL header. They have great mid range power.

Yeah, cold starts aren't too bad. It's not as bad as when I ran the N1, lol. The thing I love about the Perrin catback is its loud when you want it to be loud. Otherwise, it's a nice, civil UEL rumble while you drive and shift normally. That was my issue with the Q300. When I did drive normal, I couldn't even tell I had a UEL header inside the cabin it was that quiet. I think Perrin nailed it by using a large resonator and a not so large muffler to get that tone perfect. The Q300 is great for people who want the power but don't care for sound. I would have to go catless to increase the volume on the Q300 and I didn't want to do that in case I need to pass the sniffer inspection if it comes to my area.

So I've noticed that almost EVERYONE is buying JDL UEL headers, is there a reason why a huge majority of us are buying it?

Is there a difference? I thought the EL headers are faster.

Does anyone have a video of what a JDL EL header sounds like?

It's the only one to remove the torque dip completely after a tune. Some one had a dyno around somewhere.

The JDL UEL sounds better, and the power band is stronger in the midrange rather than the top end like an EL. The difference between both headers on an N/A setup is negligible at best. I picked UEL because I think it sounds better so that tipped the favor in that direction for me.

If you were doing a turbo setup, I would tell you go to EL because the difference there is quite a bit more than a few whp. Don't let the whole UEL vs EL stuff get to your head. Both are extremely solid options.

You will be extremely pleased with that setup. JDL UEL, JDL OP, JDL Catted FP, and a 2.5" resonated Perrin sounds absolutely incredible. I'm still trying to find drone with it and I can't. Cruising at 70 mph or even going up a hill isn't bad at all. I just like the fact I can actually hear I have an aftermarket exhaust when the throttle is pressed and when I go WOT, it screams. Everywhere else though, it's very pleasant and not overbearing. Just overall an incredible setup and hopefully I'll be able to have a video of it this weekend.

So are most of you guys on this thread running a N/A setup? Do you guys recommend a UEL for a supercharger setup?

I've seen and read so many great things about JDL. Yeah either way I was just mostly curious, because almost everyone has the UEL header.

I ordered the EL header based on how amazing it sounds in this video:

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmIPjzMG1E0"]FR-S + JDL equal length + Nameless + Perrin - YouTube[/ame]

But I'm still waiting..

If you drive on the road mostly the get the uel unless you don't like the sound. The torque dip area 3-4k is where the car needs most help. Unless you're tracking the car often and could use the top rev range. I had EL ptuning, I speak from experience. Although the el will improve the overall rev range, it left me wanting more in this flat spot.

Give them a call is the best way to get a quick answer. They're always available.
