That's true to an extent. Although if you have headers that come up toward the front of the engine and right under the airbox (nameless or FA20Club headers) heat shielding is going to make a bigger difference than headers with all the piping under engine and away from the airbox.

Not sure if that will drop the engine compartment air temp unless the ambient air is very cold as the air introduced will be warm off the radiator and air-con coil. If it IS cooler then it sounds good.

Can someone measure with and without fans operating and post.

I doubt the fans will help. It will be pulling 200F air in and that happens to blow right on the air box. I also cant adjust my fan teml I have a hard enough time getting the car to warm up and stay that way now that I installed an oil cooler.
