Oh a turbo BRZ. I will not be sold even if it is official. I like N/A cars. Plus having two turbo charged cars is overkill for me. One turbo is perfectly fine. Hence, keeping my Legacy 2.5GT and getting a BRZ.....BUUUUT!!!! if Subaru keeps to their high horse and adds a second sticker to the msrp...well, I just put a deposit down today for an FR-S :O

Just playing it safe.

Now, Subaru, hurry up and release the price. Or do ya'll think Subaru will wait until the New York Auto show next month?

I could be way off on this, but based on the price that they just released, one of a few things are true:

1. I'm right...or...
2. Scion believes that thier current target demographic is both young and stupid, because they will go into more debt to get this car.
3. Affordable was a marketing buzz word to keep your interest, but the reality is they could not turn the profit they wanted selling it for 23K.
I think #1 and #2 for you is a good guess. Lol

And if I remember they did say they were just going to barely break even.

Heh...
More like Subaru wanted AWD, but Toyota facepalmed and made RWD lol

Edit: Being USA Today or not, I don't see the Premium being cheaper than a Scion. (Subaru will probably eventually sell near invoice or with VIP pricing)

Or rumors are a 3 door. I'm not sure they have completely decided at this point. Hope they offer something hatchback like for those of us who want it along with a true coupe/sedan that want that. Not sure if they will still keep the 5 door.

And I hope they bump the power for the last year of the current 5-door model. Then I'll get one and DD it.

Sedan and 5 door are out finally, that is the from what I've heard in regards of that. And I actually hope they don't make a hatch, but whatever floats your boat. I just never saw certain hatchys that appealing anyways.

Interesting. So a true coupe ala 2.5RS? No 3 door? I thought the hatches were useful for every day usability and practicality. Also for racing, didn't the 5-door offer shorter overhangs.

Edit: Here it is- "Subaru decided that a hatchback body is the best way to go, so the STI is a hatchback only - no sedan. The hatch's shorter overhangs reduce yaw inertia, and its shape allows for better front-to-rear aerodynamic balance"

Not saying what defines a sports car, but some hatches look ugly imo and I'll got on to say the current 5 door wrx/sti is one of them. If Subaru can make a nice one then I don't have a problem with a 3 door wrx.
