If i go with this tuner, I believe this will be the first FRS/BRZ that they have done a turbo install/tune on, so I want to be armed with as much info as possible. I've already noted things like the fuel pump install (O-rings and spacer) but if there's anything else they should look for, or avoid, I'd love to know before hand.
I would go with a tuner that knows this car

I'm new to the tuning thing. Would a tuner be offended if I wanted to have my car dynoed by them but tuned by someone else remotely?

The tuners near me that I know of are WORKS and Fine Line Imports. So far I've only talked with FLI. They say they'll tune from scratch, taking it incrementally.

Are the base tunes locked? Can a tuner take the base info from another tuner's tune and work from there? Do tuners share info or work together?

DeliciousTuning is in cali, although i have not clue whether they're in norcal or socal. they would be able to take care of you though if you want someone in person.

of course they wont get get offended. just tell them that the guy who is selling the kit offer to tune the car for free.

u also dont need a dyne, you can start with the kit baseman, do datalogs and send them to the tuner for a revised map

LJ's Full Blown basemap is the only EcuTek tune I know of that is not locked. All the other tuner's tunes will be locked. I would say there is about 0% sharing of knowledge between tuners at this point, and I think that sucks for us as the consumer. One tuner figures something out and holds on to it like it is gold.

So not to start anothr fire but...

We all know visconti tunes "lean" for more power
Lean conditions increase cylinder temps
Increased temps melts injector seals
So .... If a=b, and b=c, and c=d does a=d

So not to leak flexfuel on the fire, but you might have a point.
