Well doesn't it take a good artist at least a day to come up with a good design and for you to approve of it? I don't see the problem? A tattoo shouldn't be an impulse decision IMO and if waiting 24 hours is a problem then I kinda feel facepalm

not necessarily, some of the things people bring in (ex. lettering) can be done as a walk in. This act will also affect piercings. 90% of my business is walk in based. I work in a reputable shop and the wait time for an appointment is on average 2 weeks for custom work.

The problem here is that if the government tries to regulate this industry it will be parallel with the aspects of gun control. Basically gun control laws only affect law abiding citizens. The criminals still buy/carry their guns illegally. Where restrictions such as this will only affect legitimate tattoo studios while the back alley scratchers will continue to disregard any and all laws put on this industry under the guise of "public safety"

So if this passed here, and a client walks in to get their ears pierced I have to tell them to make an appointment for tomorrow to have this done safely and hope they don't go home and let their friend do it for them with a dirty ass safety pin.

We say no all the time to bad ideas at this shop. There are some places that will take your money and do what ever you want where ever you want. That is the risk a person takes and should take the time to make an educated decision as to who permanently marks their body.

I agree the government involves themself too much but I highly doubt someone is going to go home and pierce or tattoo themself because they have to wait 1 day. Just like if I want to buy a gun I'm not going to go to some guys trunk because there is a waiting period. If i want an illegal arm I will get one the same as if I want a legal one I will wait the time it takes.

I beg to differ: This lovely young lady could not wait the one day I have off so she went else where and this is what she got.

If she couldn't wait the one day you were off, there is absolutely nothing the new legislation would do. She would do the same thing... A tattoo is a life altering decision, I really think if you can't wait one day you should be doing it whether it is a law or not.

If you told a customer "please come back tomorrow I'm booked" and they responded OMFG I CANT WAIT 1 DAY !!! would you feel comfortable working on them?
