Well what about published sources?

I cant find any factual information from engineers and designers that say you should baby your car for the first 1000 miles. Please give me some links to sources.

Again I'm not redlining, "tracking", or pushing it to its absolute limits. I drive it spirited meaning I occasionally accelerate hard, let the rpms get close to 7K but not above, and have let her butt fly loose on a few twisties.

Who's arguing with you.. I break in cars the same way you described.. Just easy on the brakes.. No abrupt off the line runs.. I have an issue with those that say drive it like you stole it right out of the box.. I never baby my cars.. I use them hard but never abuse them.. And only semi hard for the first 500 miles or so..

621 miles in 10 days all city driving.

Loving it so far just having a hard time keeping it under the 4000rpms for break-in... even though I set the RPM limit beeper. Ah well not sure if I believe in the under 4000rpm thing anyways but also haven't revved it out either. Even then it's still really tail happy and just a blast to drive.

Don't think there's anything wrong with that. I haven't had mine past 6K but just a personal choice. The manual does say keep it under 4K unless in an emergency for the first 1000miles or 1600kms.

I'm not sure which page but it's in there.
