So if i get this right. The base system is 450.00. plus 35.00 for the cable to load tunes. if you want to tune your own car its 290.00 for the software which comes with a serial cable so most will also need a decent usb to serial cable that wont corrupt data transmissions for about 26.00. if you want to do boost you will need another module 85.00 and i still need another module if i want to control the VVT system and throttle body module to control the dbw system sensitivity.

unichip system 450.00 when not on sale
download cable 35.00
tuning software 290.00
usb to serial cable 26.00
dbw module 65.00
boost module 85.00
vvt module...?
total 951.00 without map flux2 for 5 map switching function

seems like this works out to be a good option for intake exhaust guys. anyone going further than this will spend as much if not more than ecutek. and without vvt function aftermarket cams are out of the question down the line. correct me if im wrong with my calculations just going off your sites retail prices.

if you could shed some light on what tables are editable that would be ideal. i want to see what im capable of tuning in your software so i know exactly whats going on for my customers who inquire about it.

Those prices do seem fairly accurate from what I can see, but one thing to think about, you are talking about if they tune the car themselves. I do not believe this is even an option for ecutek. If you take this into consideration, it would still be cheaper to go to a tuner to tune this system, if you have the correct items.

I'm not saying that either one is better than the other, I just wanted to see what options were out there.

I will reserve judgement until i see third party dynos but i've stated in another thread that ive owned one before i didnt feel a difference in power. I also have a friend with a tC thats running a unichip and lost 2-3 hp on a dyno with it on. Once he got it tuned by his shop they were able to get some hp out of it. 495+250=$745. The shop was nice enough to tweak it for free once he got a mod here and there but they noticed that everytime they would put it on the dyno after 4-5 months that it would lose all the power gained until the ecu was reset. so now he resets his ecu like every month. maybe he had a faulty unit who knows but it wud be nice to see this on a members car with an independent dyno. Stock graph vs unichip..Looking at some graphs online with turbos and sc i see the unichip does make some power just wondering what it does for N/A

Me too. I had a Unichip on my 350Z & didn't notice any power. It actually felt better with a more linear powerband after I took the Unichip off & sold it.

I can do this with the local shop that we have here. The only problem I have is that our ecu will need time to learn the new tune, so when I switch between maps, we wont be able to realize exact gains/losses.

That i understand. But even with learning we should still see some type of gain. With ecutek we did stock runs, flashed, and then right on the dyno again and we still saw some gains. Im just curious to see what it does to the entire power band.

At the end of the day im a tuner i work with allot of different systems. If this turns out to be a viaable option then so be it. And i dont care what base tune comes on the module it will need to be adjusted to yield the most gains. geographic location along with other variables have to much say on what results each car will make. You can ask any of the ecutek owners if the difference isnt quite noticeable with the more revised tunes from myself or John

I hope jack can chip in and explain why some people did not receive gains with the unichip....and to ensure me that I made the right decision!
