Thanks for the Scans DJ petey. I wonder how much this has changed in the months since the article with a lot more exhausts on the market now.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I've been wondering something. Is the Perrin Non-Resonated still considered the most powerful catback exhaust for the 86? I've been seriously considering it, but didn't know if something better has come along in the last couple of years.

Most catbacks for these cars are not considered powerful at all these days
, rather as something meant just for sound. If you want power, get aftermarket catless header + tune and use with whatever catback you want (including stock). |

According to the article cited in this thread, the Perrin Non-Resonated gave a peak 14whp over stock. That seems like a pretty significant increase in power. Also, I already have a JDL UEL header with tune.

Gains don't stack much. The higher you go (the more bolton addons you install for exhaust/intake) the less gains are from parts unlike if they were the only thing upgraded from stock. Imho from those 14, 10 come from tune, maybe also a bit from aftermarket air filter. You already got most of gains by getting header (especially if it's catless, which you didn't mention) + tune. I doubt you will get more then some 5whp even with best catback on top of that due gains not stacking. So if you get +5 or 3 whp with some worse performing catback .. does it matter that much then? You have to pay full price for it for those minimal gains above what you already have. If you lack power that much, better think about forced induction. Bolt-ons guide is good starting point on what potential gains are to be had from miscellaneous addons and is more up to date, then this round-up of few years ago soon after launch of these cars.
