I want that flap bad!
However, the sharkfin antenna from the PDF would be nice to go with it. I can't find it on japanparts, though.

Yerp. The flap is the cherry on top. I'm working with J-parts now to get info on the antenna. Yuki is out on vacay. When he gets back we should have some info.

oh yeah, can't wait to see the first ill-fitting overpriced gurney ripoffs be put into circulation. I especially like the cf mesh cuz it gives off that "matches nothing but ppl think it's fast" vibe

srsly: if that very same gurney (which I already ordered, btw) came in carbon, I'd have it painted to match.

I'm wondering if this would help keep the back of the car cleaner...I pick up so much dirt on my rear, and I was thinking that maybe if the airflow was disrupted the dirt would no be sucked in and deposited on the back bumper area.

If there's any reduction at all, it's negligible. With the flap, my back bumper area still accumulates more dirt than most other areas.

Damn...I was hoping that to justify what will otherwise be a completely aesthetic purchase

I don't think it's gonna be purely aesthetic. This stuff seems to have worked in some way in racing before so why should the Toyobaru be an exception?

Every car I can think of gets most dirt on its rear end by upturned windstreams at the rear of the car. Only difference in Coupés (and thus reason for most not having a wiper) is that it doesn't get sprayed over the rearview window but sticks to the tail instead.
Since the Gurney isn't desinged to magically stream the air down right behind the car I wouldn't even anticipate it to influence the dirt buildup.

Try a diffusor, which keeps the air from below the car down, instead.
This is where mud is, it doesn't fall from the sky and rest on the rear of the car but it comes from below and gets dispersed by the tires and upward-forcing air.
I have the BRZ stock diffusor installed which actually seems to be helping. The stock rear fender almost screams "ride up on me" to any particles from the street

BTW: 3 Gurney Flaps for Germany are already at customs
