I know they would....Plus they have a track where I can take my car and actually drive my car to the limit whenever I please. It's included in the price.

You might want to start your own Ascari thread if that would make you feel better.

Is that $650000.00 for a BMW-powered kit-car?

Then that would make the Gumpert Apollo, Pagani Zonda, Noble/Rossion, Ariel Atom, Caterham, Koeniggsegg, and Tesla all kit cars, right?

Yup. Heh, actually I'm just bored and don't really know anything about the vehicle. And not really a supercar fan.

And technically 3 of the 7 you listed are absolutely kit cars, no argument possible. The rest are arguably just really expensive kit cars that you buy pre-assembled.

Actually agree with you there, Hence why I always refer to them as "Boutique cars".

So, Lexus Europe tweets;

Quote:
Should add that these are AutoBild's times with same driver - level playing field if you like...
....our own figure is in the low 7'20"s, and will go lower with the Nurburgring package
Someone asks
Quote:
"any idea about how the Nurburgring package road car compares with Gazoo Racing LFA that competes in VLN?"
They reply
Quote:
Will be quicker - no power restrictor, carbon ceramic brakes vs. steel and approx. same weight.....

LFA placed 4th (92.5 points) behind the GT3 RS (96.3 points), Ferrari 458 (95.6 points) and Porsche GT2 RS (93.8 points) In Evo Magazines Car of the Year award.

Their summary:

Quote:
There is nothing in the world like the Lexus LFA. It is more special and intriguing than the 458 and demonstrates an extraordinary level of passion and commitment. Bespoke and limited edition, it is also a genuine supercar that can scare the pants off you. This is mainly thanks to it's extraordinary 552bhp 4.8-litre V10 that does everything a Carrera GT's does and then goes completely mad as it closes in on 9000rpm. Its uncompromising ride adds to the challenge, and it was generally agreed that it would have been a bit of a handful up on the moors, but we were beguiled. "It's a beautiful thing, all the details, and it has the integrity and functionality of a Lexus. Feels like a step up from everything else here," said Meaden. "Very, very special," said Metcalfe. Thank you, Lexus.
If the FT-86 can have even only a fraction of this "specialness" with its boxer engine and light weight for it's projected price, then it's going to be absolutely amazing.

I'm really not a fan of the new Ferrari's styling. What were the reasons for picking the 458 over the LFA if in the text they say the LFA is more special?

(And the GT2 always makes me think of a widow-making beast...)

I'll get around to making another thread with the scans of the pretty extensive article maybe before next year.
