So it's surviving road course duty too eh?

Now I know what I'm doing when my warranty expires.

Magnificent work!

Pretty floored that this was possible on the STOCK long block with the STOCK ECU.

Also, cracking 11s in a 30k car with (guessing) 10-15k in mods ain't half bad in itself. Never mind that it's still going to retain excellent handling balance etc.

Sweetness

You've either always owned new cars or you haven't been ca long enough.

You get something like 6 yrs from the time you buy a new car untill you have to do a visual smog inspection on your car. From that point on every 2 years you need a visual smog inspection.

For example i had to smog my 350z. It required a visual. It was a 2006. 2006 + 6 yrs = 2012

"With some exceptions, gas-powered vehicles that are six years old or newer are not required to participate; instead, these vehicles pay a smog abatement fee for the first 6 years in place of being required to pass a smog check."

Its already been quoted in their other thread. To be honest, I don't know the cost of the 400 kit, but the 300 is about 7k plus ECU flash and tune. This one also has clutch, fuel pump, and injectors.

At insane power levels, a turbo becomes peaky, laggy, and is only good for a few thousand rpm at best. At average to moderate power levels, if you keep the turbo above the spool rpm (which is easy at the track by managing your downshifts), response can be pretty good, especially if the plumbing is short and tidy. If it uses a lot of pipe, you learn to predict it's response and your driving style will adapt. I used to track my STi and Evo and never had a problem with response, both OEM setups have nice short plumbing. Its really not a problem on the track if you're driving smoothly and building power appropriately as you exit a turn instead of just hulk-smashing the go pedal every chance you get. A turbo-engine power curve does take some getting used to on the track, because response is always a bit different at different rpm.

I was born and raised in CA and never knew about a "visual" smog inspection either. My last car was a "91 Celica I had to get it smogged every two years, so, If they did a visual inspections, I never knew about it.

So, whats going on with the car? Such as, are you going to keep it at 439rwhp on 20psi E85 till something gives, or up the boost and tune, or what? lol Im just excited to see what your plans are because i know you can get some more out of the 400 kit. And i know you can break 10's... Whatever your plans are, you got this! Good luck!

Oh ya, and for the skeptics that said this power wasn't possible on the "weak" stock transmission...

I TOLD YOU SO.

Sorry, just had to do it.
