Just revisiting this. I wonder how much room is still left inboard. Could 9.5 ET50 be an option?

That's hot. I'd rock that if I could stomach the price. I think 57CR/DR's will get a similar look without making me cry if they get curbed or something haha.

Threw a set of 18x9.5 +40 TE37SL w/ 255/35/18 advan apex 601 on stock suspension today. The fronts clear the stock struts by a couple mm.
Getting a bit of poke in the rear, but I'm ready to get my suspension components installed and get the rear camber to be around -2.5 ~ -3 degrees with a 1.25-1.5 inch drop for a decently flush look. Honestly, from what I remember, the "flushness"/poke looks nearly identical to my gen 1 with the same wheels on. Also pre-emptively had my rear fender liner/plastic extensions shaved by @mrsexys2k (specializes in fender rolling/pulling on s2000's, subis, hondas in LA/OC area). I'm looking at BBS RI-As in the same setup and am debating on if I want to wait for coilovers or not. Does that tire size not hit the body work or anything under load?

I think I have maybe 2mm of clearance right now between the bottom porch of the front stock strut + my tire/wheel. I didn't have any rubbing issues after driving ~30 miles.

Is anyone going to try reasonable daily sizes/offsets? I have absolutely no interest in stuffing a 9.5” wheel in there, or doing any cutting.
Let’s see some cars with ~8.5 40ET, that’s a good bit more aggressive than stock and we frankly need better wheel selections in the 8-8.5” widths. I’m tired of being forced to choose between 7.5” ET45 and 9.5” ET30 with virtually no middle ground. The only wheel company I can think of that has a decent selection in that middleground is Enkei. |

I'm personally a fan of 17x8 +35. Cheap, lightweight, pretty flush, and great for a daily. The only issue is there seems to be a somewhat limited selection if you're going for under 17 pounds at a decent price. Outside of that, I think it's the perfect size. RPF1 and Drifz 317SB are what I'm trying to decide between right now. |
