No it is not false advertising. No where do they say they will cover warranty if tracked and then don't cover it. THAT would be false advertising.

But the commercial shows it stock so you shouldn't mod. The commercial overrules everything else that is the standard you have set.

I am going to sue since when I walk away from mine I don't become younger, never have a hot passenger and no fireball erupts behind my car.

Here's another at 1:47 . no disclaimer. Says Dramatization, on the ad you posted, that's not reality, when you say it's "Ready for a day at the track" and "Bring a jack and tools" what the hell else would I think? That's reality. It's made to go to track. Simple. As for "No where do they say they will cover warranty if tracked and then don't cover it"

The burden is on Toyota. Not the customer. When you see an ad and it says all that but hide the chance of voiding your warranty that's a false statement/ad.

Go to 1:47 . again pulling in customers with the fact of this is a weekend track car. Nothing about voiding the warranty.

Lol then go after #8/10 of the largest company in the world see how you fair when they dwarf what ever representation you can bring you and that maybe 100 cases.

Just because tada says it's made for modding doesn't mean it's covered.

Just because there is a Toyota vitz commercial with Toyoda direct decedents rallying it doesn't mean the Yaris/Vitz is a rally car.

Just because the Lexus IS F/ RC F/ pretty much any F LOL is shown on a track doesn't mean that your capable of that( not that I am challenging your credentials)

Those ads are sensationalized, dramatized, edited, green screened and whatever else they do CGI etc.

It doesn't mean it's covered. Infact I spoke with a Toyota Canada representative and they explained to me that there is a channel some actual professional drivers/ media outlets can use to purchase cars for these particular mediums and if bought that way only come with a fraction of the warranty under extreme prejudice.

Why does no one choose to think that all they are saying is the car was inspired by the track and perhaps even honed on the track but definitely doesn't mean it's meant for the track ...

Your car isn't RED ..... so that's why you don't get those things .....

However, I'd settle out of court, for the hot girl, to snuggle with during my naps .....

It is laughable that people seem to think they should be able to buy a car and take it to the track, and that their factory warranty and the company that insures their street driving should take on all of the risk associated with failure or accidents. This is all very basic stuff that anybody who participates in performance driving events should know. You can't expect a company to design a vehicle for ordinary road use and give the same warranty coverage to someone who wants to abuse it and take it racing.

Similarly, when I track or abuse my car, I assume the repair costs should a part fail. If I crash, either I assume the cost of that or I have purchased special track day insurance. Either way, my normal insurance company never hears about it or has to shell out a single cent. Go ahead and call your insurance company about coverage for track days. Most of them will drop your ass just for asking. Just like the manufacturer, you are not paying them to assume the extra risk and cost of track abuse. They shouldn't have to cover it.

I think it's time we pull this out on the whole discussion...

people shouldn't take their cars to the track if they are going to bitch when something breaks and the manufacturer wont cover it, tracking a car is expensive and shit breaks deal with it.

I know we're going full circle again...
But people are complaining because something happens to the car that is a known issue, most likely won't be covered if the dealer found out they tracked their car.
