Got a call from my boss today and it looks like I'll be getting a nice raise. As in, I could finance the car now only off of the extra money I'll be making, and then some...

NO! Must stay strong! Must pay off credit debt first!

Agree it depends on the car, personally disagree they look good on red.

Not ridiculous, but they do scream "Hey, I'm Over Here", even more so than Red does. Too much contrast.

Don't know what your profession is but unless you are hauling clients around in your car, or working for an alternative vehicle company, or Trying To Save The Planet, LLC, screw 'em.

Ugmm, see my comment above. Honestly, I think they are OK, but they do look like brand new tennis shoes on the first day of school, and not in a good way. That said, I'm more of an 80's red/black kinda guy

Thanks. I work in a field operations position with an international franchise. I travel 100% of the time to work with franchise owners across New England. I have another vehicle but it's a 98 Jeep Cherokee and it's gonna be hard to resist driving the car all summer. The Jeep is going to need to come off the road for some prolonged maintenance soon.

I don't often drive folks around for work but it's hard to avoid them seeing my car....especially when it stands out.

My itch for the white wheels came about suddenly over the last week or so and I'm sure it'll pass.

I'll probably end up with black, gunmetal, or a real dark bronze.

When I had my MK1 MR2 I was a techie doing Sales Support (went around with the Sales Dudes talking tech speak at people that didn't understand what I was saying most the time). I either parked it around the corner and walked in or when someone asked I said "it's fun to drive, costs 1/3 the price of a luxury car and get's great gas mileage".

I use the same now with the FR-S because it's true.

I love white wheels, I think they look awesome. Honestly most of the time people won't care, they'll see "sports car" and that's about it. I may get a set for my car. I'm not a black on black person.

Someday I'll get to where you are. I'm gonna take a guess and say you work in the restaurant field?

Delivery driver. And i wish i could stab some of these customers in the face with a pizza wheel. They went full retard, and it stuck.

My manager convinced me to take a week off instead, and if i still feel the aame, then 2 week notice

14 hr shift over... well, I learn my lesson. Never wear new kicks to 14 hrs shift. My feet are killing me. On bright side, I've wore em into my feet

Possibly my next watch purchase.

An 'open heart' automatic mechanical Orient (Japanese) watch with tachymeter. Official Subaru STI licence. $480.

I like that it is a subtle tachymeter, but I don't know much about the movement. Pretty expensive for just a 3 hand auto. The exposed balance is neat, but it's not really a major technical deal, and the tachymeter is just the dial. For reference I got my Seiko 5 auto for $140 new, which is a reliable 3 hand with day and date and full display back, but it is made in Malaysia. This Orient is apparently made in Japan.

So STI licen$e?

Edit:

They have the BRZ GT300 one, too. But it's quartz, and no tachymeter, but is a chronograph. But it's $450. For quartz with no solar or Kinetic power. Or sapphire crystal. Sorry, but nope.

White shoes before Labor Day... sui generis

Just ate a yoghurt for a late night snack that I got at the continental breakfast counter this morning.
You've been warned.
