So who actually managed to get the strike/Nightfall done last night? (I know the PS bubbas got 2 strikes but curious to hear about the strike that all of us got)

Did anyone actually do the new Raid last night/yesterday? I did the the 3 new stories, twice. So far I'm liking it. Sure, the story line is pretty much absent still and Dinklebot is no longer from what I can gather. I do like some of the additions/changes made. Maybe it's cheese that I won't hit level 30 by doing the VoG but I'm happy I'll finally be able to at least hit level 30. I can see where being level 29 is just not going to cut it anymore.

Not much of a fusion rifle guy, but was happy to get the new fusion rifle that does both Arc and Solar damage. Hopefully more weapons will have the ability to switch between damage types. I'm actually surprised that a Legendary weapon has that perk, I would have thought something like that would have been reserved for the new Exotic weapons.

I haven't done the raid, going in blind on Friday... But I did read one spoiler that anyone can capitalize on so long as they're high enough level to get in, no kills necessary.

Spoiler below! (No real spoilers, just a quick and easy chest location).

You can solo this on any character that can get into the raid, but it's quick access to a known exotic chest random spawn location. Once you've activated the hellmouth platform and dropped down, head straight forward toward the light column. About halfway to it (maybe 50 ft?) keep your eyes left and look for a path, follow it straight left and you'll find a door, behind it is a chest. A light above the door will alert you the chest is present, if not, wipe and retry, no need to orbit. This chest has a few locations to spawn in the area, but this is by far the easiest place to find it.

Stayed on with @skuts? to finish the story missions and those random bounties from Eris to finally unlock the Weekly Heroic and Nightfall.

Did the Nightfall with three 30's, it was pretty intense and cool because it was the new strike. The other guys had Fatebringers (arc burn) so I was hanging back to make sure we didn't wipe. Finally killed the witch and these dropped for me:



Then it was late and my gf just got back from out of town so I logged off. Didn't get to the raid yet, but I want to sooooo badly.

Cool, when I got back on saw you guys were playing but the fireteam was full. Ended up getting a request from one of the guys off the old clan so I helped him and another guy (who was level 25 for the love of god) get through the 3 stories. I really want to get on tonight and unlock the Nightfall and (hopefully) complete it. Unfortunately, the girlfriend is done with the semester so now she has extra time and is cramping my style. lol

I can't even get on tonight, been playing so much Destiny my GF made me carve out 1 weeknight to hang out. She picked Wednesdays lol.

Yeah, I had to straight up tell my girlfriend last night "I've been waiting over a month for tonight, so you need to back up off me so I can play for an hour or two". I don't think she was very amused or happy but she was cool enough to "let me play for a bit". lol

Just looked at that leg armor you got. I guess you will have some super mad dance skills now? And I'm getting confused by the light level stuff now. I see it goes to light level 36? I know we will be capped at 32 with this DLC, but I'm guessing by it's light level you will be able to level it up to 35 once the next expansion drops? If so, that's good news because you won't need to get a whole new set of leg armor in the future?

You need 144 Light to get to Level 32. 144 / 4 armor slots = 36 light a piece.

edit: The tower legendaries all go up to 33 light a piece now, enough to get to level 31, but not 32. 32 requires an exotic and 3 raid pieces, or a full raid set.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing it up for me, I've been looking at those numbers the wrong way all along.

I've only gotten to do the three missions from Eris so far, but I'm having a blast.

So level 31 and 32 are 12 light each. Are current exotics 36 light? (edit, yes apparently they are).

Level 21: starts at 21 light
level 22: +11 total 32
level 23: +11 total 43
level 24: +11 total 54
level 25: +11 total 65
level 26: +11 total 76
level 27: +11 total 87
level 28: +11 total 98
level 29: +11 total 109
level 30: +11 total 120 (originally required all gear to have 30 light)
level 31: +12 total 132 (current max, now requires all gear to have 33 light)
level 32: +12 total 144 (hard mode raid gear only, not released as of yet, and exotics).

Um, what do you mean no raid gear released as of yet? My buddy got raid gloves on his hunter last night after we did first phase of the raid, lol.

I was under the impression the hard more light level 36 raid gear wasn't available yet? or was it just the hard more raid itself?

Either your friend is really lucky or this is a good sign that they've increased the drop rates for the Raid. I really don't want to get stuck at level 31 this time like I was stuck at level 29 for the past 2 months.
