Oh they at least doubled down. There may have been some quadruple downing going on in this particular episode since this particular version of NCIS plays off that they have a computer "world class genius" on the staff. He wrote an "antivirus program" that attacked this particular vulnerability during a commercial break.

my favorite 'hacking' scene. it blows right past impossible, and loops back to funny for me:

People are more sensitive to watching things that are in their line of work. It is just harder to let your suspension of disbelief kick in when when deal with something every day.
If we applied real world logic and rules to every movie and show there would be nothing but very slow and boring how to documentaries on.

On the other hand we are greatly entertained by things we know are impossible since we don't have to deal with them. I for one have no issue how they depict computer "experts" be they hackers or fixers since watching a show where the special agent says he needs help and the IT department say "put in a ticket and we will get to it" would not be fun to watch.

I think it's just things where people have reached a level of expertise... I absolutely HATE watching (almost) anything where they're trying to play a musical instrument. Plenty of other things too, but that's the one that just gets under my skin like nothing. And this is definitely not in my line of work, and I certainly can't play nearly as many instruments as bother me.

Yea, that's where I get even with MomHawk. She is a musician by advocation and had played in a couple of event bands (Piano/keyboard, Flute, organ, a few other things). She has the same negative reaction but usually just laughs and lets it go.'

I completely understand with the "IT stuff" it has to be that way to keep the story moving, but still they could at least try to do a "time fast forward" version of something realistic.
