Regardless, it will be difficult selling a 4 cylinder Toyota for over 50k when it will probably have similar performance to a Camaro SS which you can get for 35k...

I'm still hoping MotorTrend is correct. $60k for 485hp and 2,900lbs

I'm hoping there is only one engine option, not many trim levels and around the price of a base corvette. That's it. Just, stay true to the concept and be that, lol.

X2, also with it being such a niche product I think one engine is possible.

Sadly, the prototype looks waterdown. The rear isn't as wide as the concept and the front fenders look soften

Most of the articles I came across said the Z5 will be offered both as a 4 and 6 cylinder, but Toyota's version will only be available with a 6 cylinder.

Interesting, I thought I read that the 4 cylinder was going to be made by Toyota and the 6 cylinder was from BMW.

I just assumed that the Supra would have the 4 as an option for that reason.

I have the same concern as well. If they make it more pedestrian, hopefully a full blown performance model like a Z06 competitor moves closer to the concept.

They said that about the Alfa 4c too. I'd be stunned though if the only engine wasn't a inline 6 cylinder. I mean why go to BMW, the purveyor of sensational inline 6's if not to create another world class inline 6?

The Alfa is super light though. I will be very surprised if this car is under 3200lbs, especially if it uses some kind of hybrid technology.

We're happy to bring you the first video of the 2018/2019 Toyota Supra prototype! It was spotted leaving and entering the BMW M Test Center at the Nurburgring, which is no surprise considering the Supra is being co-developed and shares a platform with the upcoming BMW Z5.

Sounds like a regular turbo V6, instead of one of BMW's I6s (at least to my ears). So it would appear that Toyota is gonna build it's own engine for this one.
