I believe that only happens in areas with an 80 kph limit or less. In Ontario 400 series highways have a 100 kph limit and I think it's still 50 and over that they yank your car.
However, if there is alcohol or illegal substances involved than you can loose your car, (and license) at any speed.
Furthermore, it's up to the officer's discretion if he wishes to lay "Stunt Driving" or "Aggressive Driving" charges which now means impounding your vehicle for 14 days. (Up from the original 7 days) Isn't Ontario great!
