Ah those are just ambient flurescent lights so your fine. Those are actually mostly for video bit a lot of shops mark them for photo. They are a lot easier to learn on than strobes though, as you can visually see how the light changes while moving around.

And on the topic of Washington I grew up Bellevue / Lynwood / issaquah

Not much... between $40 and $80 or so. You can get $100-120 if they're brand new, which I guess even that probably wouldn't really be worth it after eBay and PayPal get their cut. I only got rid of mine because the lens that replaced it had IS, and covered most of the same range and then some. There are times I do wish I had that extra 10mm though...

Ahh, see I would not have known that, LOL. Nice! I grew up on Whidbey Island, in Oak Harbor. I miss that state so much. My brother currently lives in the Seattle area, although I'm not exactly sure where. He just switched roommates/houses a month or so ago.

Yeah, I came here back at the end of 2000, after I'd graduated from high school. Came originally to go to DeVry... meanwhile they built one in/near Seattle a year or two later

Washington : Lived there for the first 50 years on the planet. All of the people on this forum combined don't have enough money to get me to spend another winter up there. I do miss racing in the rain and extreme mountain snowmobiling. Other than that, way too much rain. Typical routine. Sit in the house all week end wishing the rain would finally stop but knowing it probably won't for 9 months.
Arizona: First summer. Pretty rough. Second summer. Not as bad. Third summer. Started getting used to it. 4th summer & beyond - piece of cake. Played golf at 10:00 am this morning. Playing 3 sets of tennis tomorrow and then a 4 mile bike ride. No problems. Car stays much cleaner for a lot longer too. Stick around John, you'll get used to it.

I've spent 5 years in Tucson now, and the previous 14 in Colorado. I'd give up these Tucson summers for a Colorado winter any day of the week. But then I grew up in a city that got cold, but the snow never stuck around for more than a day, maybe two in a cold snap. I don't think I'll ever get used to the heat of southern Arizona, every summer to me is another 3-4 month hell I try to avoid. Luckily I work night shift so I rarely have to deal with the heat.
Granted, after spending a summer on the Horn of Africa, even Arizona heat is a joke, but I don't have to live there, I DO have to live here, for the time being.
