Just take your time. Honestly it's better to buy quality now than getting something cheaper and then save up for something better. JDL's are really well worth it. And I contacted Bill from Delicious for my tune. He'll take care of you. He's been working with me closely and my tune is just silky. I've logged 5000 miles on this tune so far. I love it.

I had someone on the forums e-tune me and my car pulls so hard. I already had a crappy tune from Toni at FA20club.com and only received two revisions. I was able to do about 20 logs and have 18 rom files to show how much progression has been made. I have not put it on a dyno yet to see how it is though.

Bill at Delicious probably does an outstanding job at tuning this header and your intake combo. It can be a bit pricey though which was my biggest issue.

I'm gonna go with Delicious Tuning since I don't know any local tuners in my area. Just a thought.

JMS in San Antonio is really one of the only places you can go to for tuning an 86. Boost Logic in Austin occasionally has their tuner, but he travels all over the place in the US.

Yeah I had seen them when looking up tuners around here. Delicious just seemed more convenient, though.

Shooting everyone with a header on order an email tonight. Our mandrel bender needed to replace the 1.75" die for his machine. Its taking longer for the tool to come in than he anticipated. I'm told it should be in any day now and that our header runners are the first job going on the machine. We have the merge collectors ready and waiting at the shop and cleared out all other jobs so its going to be nothing but headers, overpipes and front pipes here for the next few weeks!

Thanks for your patience!

Waiting patiently for my EL headers.

In the mean time, anybody have a video of JDL EL headers? I've only come across a couple of videos on YouTube.

I'll be in a much better position to give an accurate answer once i have these bent runners in my hands. I've put my foot in my mouth a few times going off what i've been told from my bender for the past 3 weeks or so (I'm sure they are being told one thing from the tooling company..It's a vicious trickle down..)...Either way we have a tracking number for the tooling die, they've assured me its the first job going on the machine, and we've took care of a lot of other work for other platforms we support to free up nothing but FT86 header fabrication. We've also ordered enough parts to not only fill current orders but to avoid this problem in the future.

Anyones welcome to contact me direct on here, call the shop, or shoot us an email if they are curious where their order falls.

Jesse

Just be patient guys. This happens to the other small performance shops as well. When your suppliers have issues, you can't make materials appear out of thin air.

It is highly worth the wait.... I've had my JDL UEL since around October of 2013 and it's been one of my favorite upgrades. I received mine right when they switched to the braided flex joints. 0 issues, no cracks, and the coating still looks great.

I never received an email...does that mean my order (#488 placed 11/19) is already done and out for coating? *fingers crossed*

I would not hold your breath, I am still waiting for an update on all of this. JDL makes great quality stuff that's worth the wait but it seems like either no one knows what's going on or they just are not up front all the time. I called 2 weeks ago and was assured by a guy that my header was completed and at coating, then I called a week ago and was told by a lady that my header was not even built but she assured me I would have a tracking number yesterday or today, and then talked to another person who said they were "dropping my header off to coating as we speak" who knows at this point what is going on. I don't think anyone would have minded had they posted that there were serious delays out of their control as soon as they knew which was over 3 weeks ago. Most people were left in the dark though, not bashing the company, I myself cannot wait to get that header in and represent their brand I just feel they should work on their communications with everyone, and even possibly create a staged process that us the customer could view such as Nameless has.
