Great Mall? Or McCarthy Range 99 (there are plenty of good restaurants
there) or across the street by Hometown buffet area or Walmart area... |

As for first street, I don't care if we go there or not, its just a place that is central, has a variety of food choices and relatively easy to park (after 7:30). I didn't bring it up as I do agree we used to go there often. I guess it is still an option now that you mentioned it though... ![]() That being said, here are a few I believe have been mentioned in the past, all of which we frequent: McCarthy Ranch Great Mall Valley fair mall First Street (That one place on Laurence expressway we have gone a few times) Anyone have anything new that we could try that we havent done yet?

Heard about this via the BF. I might not be able to make it there this week, but here's some info on The Plant..
Yellow star is Johnny Garlic's: 101 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125 Just using this address as pinpoint for everyone to get directions to, not necessarily suggesting this place to eat at. There are many other restaurants in the plaza. Red boxes are what I've seen to be the least busiest parking areas during dinner time. Surrounding the "hub": Five Guys Wing Stop Burnt Rice (Korean) Jamba Juice Which Wich? Rubio's Erik's Deli Tapioca Express Whimsical FroYo Straw Hat Pizza Al's Beef Boiling Crab Famous Dave's Johnny Garlic's The outskirts: Applebee's L&L Hawaiian Subway Panera Bread McDonald's Panda Express El Pollo Loco I know too much about The Plant because it's my lunch break hangout

just one data point and by no means something you should take too heavily given that I rarely go to the SB meets...
![]() The Plant is a nice spot because it has so many restaurants, but it's also in deep south SJ and so it's not very "central". Those of us who come out from East Bay or Peninsula, that is about the farthest point we hold meets at. Not saying it's not worth it to go there, but we would face a significant amount of traffic to get there. (and I recognize that sometimes the SB peeps come up a good distance to visit us in the EB too). ![]() My MR2 group is actually meeting there tomorrow night (MR2sdays) and I am probably going to skip it, and go to the Daly City meet instead because it's closer.

Follow up on Plato thought...
Just to give you an idea of traffic: it is a 35-40 minute commute from Sunnyvale/Santa Clara off 101 or Milpitas area for 12 mile commute between 6-7:30PM (someday traffic goes until 8). On a midweek, it is becoming stressful rather than fun. Yes, I hate traffic with a passion... Many of the East Bay folks were able to come out either because it if right off milpitas and they are going against traffic and same with those from San Jose and further South, against traffic. Let's drill down to 3 for this week: 1. Same food truck at Mission College - Moveable Feast (parking is easier than i thought) 2. Mc Cathy Ranch (Starbucks and lots of other food option across the street) 3. First Street Pieology Pick one and i will post for the one that get most vote

Anyway, just some suggestions for some different places for next week. I don't know where everyone is from, but I'm trying to think of other places to meet up at. I mean, is Mountain View too far west?
Someone mentioned you guys used to meet up near San Pedro Square in DTSJ. I think that's a great idea! I missed out on the Verde meet in Cupertino too... it was a good meetup spot as long as you guys parked in the Sears lot, right? Rivermark Plaza. Near Mission College/Montague Expwy. Parking here sucks, but there is a small garage um, circled in red. ![]() St. Johns is a really nice place to eat. Lawrence and Arques. Wednesdays are 1/2 off burgers, and outdoor seating is spacious enough to accommodate us all. But parking may be disastrous. Anyone know if the areas in red are available for parking?
