I definitely used it. Surprisingly the car sustained little to no damage. Lost a few fender liner clips in the front and it popped the bumper out on the passenger side, which tweaked that side reflector somehow, now it doesn't stay in properly. I'm probably just going to order some smoked ones.

I looked underneath the car yesterday and you can barely tell I even went off-roading.

I feel that driving CW at H2R gives you a higher chance of driving off the track compared to CCW. Both directions are fun though.

My advice to first timers out there:
- Pay attention to your instructors
- Look ahead
- Pay attention to your car. How do my brakes feel, tires, suspension. If something feels off, go to the paddock and check everything out.
- Don't be afraid to go fast. You're at a racetrack, you can be cautious and still try to learn the limits to your vehicle.

I would also recommend bringing some wheel chocks out there. When you are doing a lot of braking and then go into the pits to take a break, you aren't going to want to use your handbrake because you can warp the rotor or something worse.

I had planned to buy some when I went to Harbor Freight recently, but they were out of stock on low profile jacks, I need to go anyway to get some 1/2" socket extenders and I will pick some chocks up while I am there! I had not thought of the hot brakes scenario!

Twisted Sisters Run March 29th

Bumpin' this up...a Reminder - Twisted Sisters Run a couple of weeks away...March 29th!

We'll meet up @ 9AM in Medina, Texas at "The Apple Store" and leave there as a group for Leakey, Texas @ about 9:30. We'll do a brief stop in Leakey (last chance for restroom and gas) and then drive a loop on RR 336, Hwy 41, 335, Hwy 55 and then 337 to the Bent Rim Grill back in Leakey for lunch.

Bring FRS/GMRS radios to communicate if ya got um. Typically, we'll stop a couple of times for photo ops along the way.

Faster drivers to the front - slower to the rear. Newbys are welcomed.

What Bo had me do was just roll the front tires off the tarmac in the paddock area. Heald the car there without brakes.

Is Apr 6th a confirmed date for H2R mini school?
The reason is, despite not having a BRZ anymore, is my Mazda 3 comes with a complementary driving course at H2R. I just found out today in a e-newsletter the dealer sent me. I'm trying to see if I can hang out with your guys on the same day.

It is confirmed. If you don't mind calling Harris Hill and letting them know you will be going in the morning session with us, that would be great!

10-Day Forecast for next Saturday's Sisters Run....Partly Cloudy, High around 74, Morning low around 50. Looking good weatherwise!

Heard from a reliable source in Leakey (wife's step brother in law I saw on Friday) that there have been lots of motorcyclists last few weekends - he said there was recently a bad accident out on the run (no details) and there are now 3 DPS units assigned to the area instead of the one that was occasionally around. I was advised (as he always advises) to "be careful out there".

The 2014 Hill Country Rallye (Coalition of Porche enthusiasts from Texas and beyond) will be held in Boerne, Texas the last weekend of March so, we may be seeing / meeting up with at the Bent Rim for lunch with a bunch of Porches as we did last year on the sisters run! Should be interesting.

I just hope the bicycle riders will all be in Stonewall, TX next weekend for the LBJ 100 BICYCLE RIDE! Pretty good chance we will be "bicycle free" if so.

All in all, it's shaping up to be a fun run for next Saturday. We just need to time everything just right for the twisties and use some caution in the risky straightaway areas we know are susceptible to radar. We're not gonna be out there to break land speed records so if there are a lot of cyclists out there we need to ramp things down a bit from our past wintertime runs to be on the safe side. #1 goal is that we all get there and back safe and sound. Also, we must be attentive and respectful of other folks on the road....as we always do!

Looking forward to seeing everyone this next Saturday!!!

That just stinks every which way! I have a particular disdain for WebEx (we use it at work).
