To make more power and take advantage of the octane? Yes. Running the canned tune on 93 just improve det resistance that much, though I doubt the canned tunes would aggressive enough to cause much if any det in normal use.

Too many people are overly obsessed with horsepower numbers and theorhetical performance.
Any car can be setup to make show off HP numbers, whats the point of this constant debate?

I just want to know what I want. Vortech now? Wait for this? I like the idea of the twin screw, i just want to see where the power is before jumping on one or the other.

What's wrong with you people?
This package is available outside of North America and there are dynos to demonstrate what it's doing in those particular applications. I can understand you guys getting frustrated that it's taking a while to bring the product to market in your region but really, come on. I'm not convinced Innovate are approaching it in the right way, as in waiting for CARB approval before letting any consumer buy it. Seems a bit crazy as some of your states are not regulated by CARB (as far as I understand it). Why don't some of you, who seem to care so much, pick up the phone and call Innovate and ask them why they have decided to launch the product in this way? Chances are they're just the exclusive distributor for the product and didn't have much/any involvement in its development. Of course being the exclusive dizzy, they would be the people to feed back problems with the product during initial installations, so you could call that 'development' if you want. Ultimately it's just a sprintex unit bolted on top of an inlet manifold which appears to be ripped off from the OE one anyway, but with a mounting flange for the charger/heat exchanger. I bet it didn't even see a flow bench. If you want to buy one today, then import it. Nothing stopping you doing that, is there? The rest of the world imports enough crap from America, now the tables are turned it seems! |

To add a little fuel to the fire here:
With a 12.5:1 compression ratio the FA20 likely has a higher than average thermal efficiency. This means that it burns less fuel to make the same 200HP lots of other engines make. Because it burns less fuel, it requires less air, which means a smaller blower will result in more power than an identical engine with a lower thermal efficiency. |

I think people are just ancy to get some more clarity and expectation of the kit. I think in America we are accustom to businesses managing expectations. Innovate has just closed the door on contact to their consumer community. Not sure the reasons, I'm just anxiously waiting this kit's release. I plan to buy it right away but feel more comfortable when others are up and running too.

1)you live in the wrong state. 2)Carb approval has nothing to do with making Dyno runs. 3)Dynos in other countries with real gas (not the water in the US) will yield different results so I do not care for them. they also use different ofunitsmeasurement. |

As humourous as it would be to agree (as I don't live in America at all), I am not sure that's what you meant. Even still, just to further clarify, I don't live in America. And dyno runs have little to do with anything other than waffling crap on forums. Even though you may not be able to use punctuation accordingly, I have faith you can Google for "horsepower to kilowatt conversion". |
