My experience from my SC and oil cooler shipped from US thru UPS is if it arrives in pampangga like my SC, the courier will give you the computed custom duties and vat which approximately 27% (10%vat, 15%duties). But if it will arrive in Manila NAIA, like my cooler, then they will require affidavit, letter and some ID plus the duties and taxes... Then if you are lucky they will release it... But my own, they deny and ask me to do other filling! Until now my cooler is still with them.... I don't know if its the custom or UPS... So better clarify everything before you place your order.

I was worried bout shipping parts to the Philippines as well until I saw a thread in the Subaru Society forum. One of the members regularly ships stuff from over here to the Philippines without any problems. He referred me to a freight company based in San Francisco. Shipped my TC105Ns with them along with a custom bicycle back in late April. Everything cleared customs with no problems and was delivered to my local address on the first week of June.

They charge per cubic foot for most car parts except wheels/tires (+250 I believe) and engine/tranny.

Would be more than happy to pass along their info if anyone is interested in checking them out in the future.

@Duo ,

This applies to brand new cars in Metro Manila. There currently is a shortage of car license plates for new vehicles because the government agency in charge of this screwed up. As such it can take you as long as a year to get your licence plate for a new car. As a temporary measure all new cars in Metro Manila which don't have plates yet are required to display the conduction sticker number of the car on the spaces allotted for regular license plates in front and at the rear of the car (Hence home made plates. Some just print out stickers, others are more fancy and have custom made euro style plates with the conduction sticker numbers on them). This allows the government to still implement their vehicle reduction scheme by using the last digit of the conduction sticker.

A couple of nights ago I saw a blue 2014 Subaru Forester with a LTO vehicle plate. I was surprise to see this as we were also the first to get it as well.

Perhaps the ending digit had something to do with it seeming we requested for Thursday/Friday.

@Alabang BRZ,

It has nothing to do with the last digit you requested. It has more to do with who you know at the LTO.

idk if its just me but i think i'm really just fine with not having plates for the next 6months to a year because the lto can't produce them. for me, it just makes the car to still look like brand new after already using it for a few months.
