It's better than to close this thread and open a new one later on the same topic. Unfortunately, Lucas additive didn't work for me consistently either

yeah its only a temporary fix. however if you find a gas station with no ehtanol gas then that seems to fix the problem indefinately until ethanol is introduced again.

haha Jesus, Koa! All aboard the troll train! CHOO CHOO

The crickets noise is the HPFP working as intended. You can take this to the dealer and they will replace a fuel pump, where by you may or may not have crickets after this change is done. Or you can leave it. Or, if you're crafty, there are threads about a cap full of 2-stroke oil fixing it.

STOP RE OPENING THIS FKING THREAD.

THERE IS NO FIX. the tsb doesnt mean anything, the HPFP is the same as before there is no "NEW" HPFP they just swap your old one with teh problem for a new one with teh same issues. the only real solution was running non ethanol gasoline that is all.. stop giving people hope.

Pretty sure that the postKoa responded to was the joke/troll one!
If anybody can't be bothered to read the 1000 posts prior to these then they deserve to stay in the dark.
And NOTHING fixes it for everybody so pushing the 2 stroke oil myth for the 4032nd time doesn't mean much anyway.

just to clarify (and according to the dealer my cars at now), there is a fix listed according to the dealer; in the form a new HPFP "kit" for the existing pumps. There's just no release date on when it will be out. They told me they still want people to come in and have warranty claims opened, but there's no timeline of when the kit will be released.
So there's some hope, but just enough to be disappointed when its still not here 3 months from now.

Did they also tell you a turbo convertible FR-S will be released soon?

I was onto you right away!
I will get a chuckle out of the 500 new responses of "Use this gas", "pour oil in your tank", "walk around your car waving garlic and chanting yabadabado every fill up", etc. that will now pop up yet again.
