I hate the slanted rear louvers, but it's Honda powered and a sports car so I like it.

That's one perk of being Asian - they don't usually make us that tall.
My wife and I just had a baby girl. So getting a S2000 seemed like the right thing to do.
I go an AP1 and I regret nothing (especially when VTEC kicks in).

Fitting in a car has a lot to do with torso length. I'm over 6' (and Asian lol) but I fit okay because a lot of it is in the legs. Though, that creates another problem, which is that my knees come close to the steering wheel, and I don't fit very well in economy airplane seats

On my MR2 the previous owner put bucket seats in, but my knee was jammed against the steering wheel so I had to remove the sliders to give them an extra half inch. Now my knee only sometimes hits the steering wheel, but that's because I have the bucket seat reclined back quite a bit. If it were tilted forward there would be less of a problem. I was actually teaching my friend to drive stick in my car yesterday and he is 6'2" ish with a very long torso and fit just fine, so I suppose the MR2 is fairly spacious.

I imagine on the S2k bucket seats mounted straight to the floor should fit a reasonably tall driver, but I have heard that it is on the cramped side, though not as bad as a Miata.

It looks to be the same length as the NSX to my eyes based on the size of the seats, but it has more rear overhang with a shorter wheelbase. The weird center tunnel is surprisingly wide too. I personally hope that an actual production car would be a good amount narrower and slightly shorter at the front. I like the short wheelbase though.

The NSX isn't actually heavy if you consider the fact that it has 4WD. I also think they kind of overdid it with the 9 speed transmission which has got to be heavy as it handles huge torque. The GTR weighs more than the NSX for example. I suppose the Huracan/R8 manages to be a little lighter with 4WD but that's the exception rather than the rule.

Factor in Honda discontinuing the Accord's V6 engine and it's bordering on the sort of certainty on which you'd bet your life.

Any chance of this having a V6 engine (would mean it's NSX derived) and would cost considerably more than $40-50k.
I don't think it's necessarily going to be the K20C1 engine, it could end up being an L15B7 derivative, which produces over 200hp and has room for more. Also the V6 isn't getting killed, the Pilot and Odyssey still need a V6..., but I agree they aren't going to toss a V6 into this sports car if it happens.

I just really hope they don't put one of the Civic engines in and call it a day, because 7000rpm isn't very exciting, and I'm pretty sure there's a good amount of turbo lag given how high the boost pressure is. I drove a BMW 435 the other day and the turbo lag drove me nuts despite that engine running much less boost than the Hondas. That said, it should be pretty easy to rev these engines higher and adjust the boost characteristics, so I wouldn't complain much.

Looks great and while I see the cues it still doesn't look Honda to me. Either way with lines like that I'd love a convertible version, or at least a targa top. Throw in low torque hybrid power (30-40 hp) with the CTR 2.0T pushed to around 330 hp for 375 total, rear wheel drive only, DCT, heat/cooled seats, priced under $65k and in that orange color. Only thing missing would be a decent soundtrack. And I hope they'd go HAM on cooling fins, rear engine deck lid/side vents like in the concept cars. It would slot in with the F-Type, 4C, Corvette, SLC43 AMG, Cayman and TTRS range in price and performance. Let the aftermarket get it to 450 hp with a few bolt-on's and a tune and it turns into a baby McLaren.

I think Honda may showcase a new Prelude-esque sporty coupe at the Tokyo Motor Show. Hopefully they'll show something for this, too. What chassis would support this car?

The current S660 is small but it's not hard to imagine Honda stretching out the chassis to make a new MR S2000/baby NSX.

The important thing is that if the name follows the other roadsters, it will be Sxxxx where the numbers denote the engine displacement. Thus, this will limit the type of engine the car can use for marketing reasons.

Ah hah! I forgot the S660. Yeah this is a dead ringer for it huh, lots of similar styling.

This car, along with the new Supra and new MR2 should keep things interesting for the next decade to come. This car is reportedly supposed to be a hybrid right?
