Except for the R1R because of sour ass old folks think the tire is a cheater tire.

National-level? 200tw is the rule, and that transition was announced over a year in advance. So, as unsympathetic as it sounds, it's not like the change snuck up on us. The money expenditure on tires and other parts is one of the things about autocross that is a little more like chess.
It doesn't sound unsympathetic. I understand rules are rules and I knew this day was coming since last year.

My (1st world) "problem" is I didn't do my usual amount of track events in 2014 to use up a set of non-daily driver tires.

Ok, good to know. Sac Chapter is technically part of SFR so the rule should apply to us as well. That's my justification and I'm sticking to it

I'm gonna be doing NorCal 86cup events this year so I'm sure my tires aren't going to last another 6 mos.

The Sac Chapter is a part of SFR, but I'm talking about the SFR Solo group, which is separate from the Sac Chapter. Both have separate local rules and events.

Understood from the start that Sac keeps it own rules... I just wanted to justify in my head why I'm not buying a new set of tires. lol

Why not just let your competitors know and see if they're okay with it. If not, just run for fun, or in CSP.

LoL ... IF that scenario does go down that way I don't think having the competition buy a faster set of new generation tires is going to help your cause any.

This.

If you aren't trying to build a national level car, no one cares.

According to UPS I will have them by the 4th. Our first event will be the 7th so I will have my first impressions pretty soon.

It doesn't look like too many people are signed up in STX for the Blytheville ProSolo this weekend, but there are entrants in the other ST classes. I am hoping there will be some comparison between the new street tires, especially Hankooks and Dunlops after this event. Of the weather will be cool, so it may not be the final story.

It's going to be too cold there to get any meaningful data, unless you want some data on which one performs better in temperatures under 40 degrees.

I'm on the fence about tires at this point, but the easy button is the RS3v2, TR is supposed to have them back in stock next week sometime.
