Ok I finally got the vendor information and will set that up in the coming weeks. If I cannot maintain sales I may default to selling strictly through existing vendors but I'll go that route when necessary.
Thanks for your patience guys, I'm trying to ensure you get a quality product that installs consistently and easily. |

Updated post #2 with the following milestone information.
Final design! I have measurements for final trim dimensions using black 3M 4949 1/4" wide tape and will include it in the production mold ASAP to ensure consistency and speedy fabrication. Request: I would like to send a sample piece to someone who is a tint guru and could test it for me on a piece of test glass left in the hot sun for a few days. I will include a small piece of carbon, sprayed with black Plastidip exactly like the production piece to mimic similar conditions. Please note: the smudging on the carbon shroud surface in the pic below is from me handling it after removal and not cleaning it thoroughly...

This is absolutely impressive quality and attention to detail. I'm thoroughly impressed. I'll be down for the GB! I haven't figured out how to do a "thank you" yet (newb), so THANK YOU!

Nothing is being sold just yet, I'll first set up a vendor acct and make a GB thread.
Standard kit- (non-GB pricing) will sell for $200 + shipping. This includes photo and/or graphic instructions, and all parts and supplies necessary for installation, as well as pre-cut felt to cover the original holes. I could sell the carbon shroud by itself for $150 with no additional items, strictly for those wanting do do their own thing with it. GB pricing- I could sell them for $180 + shipping and still make out OK due to the bulk material efficiency, reduced waste, etc. Making a bulk material purchase of my own is good in the long run, but I don't have $4000 for a 100ft roll of carbon to precut a bunch of kits. At least I get good prices through work. Fiberglass version- $165. Once the initial order load lightens up, I can offer a black fiberglass version. Tab mounted- $TBD; need to develop some more tooling etc to ensure consistency and quality fitment. These things always come out more expensive than people want them to be. I just want to make some quality stuff that people are proud to have. So, in that regard, I believe the initial pricing above is fair. If anyone would like to discuss it with me, please send a PM. Unfortunately the raw materials are expensive, and while the expenable materials aren't expensive by themselves, they can only be used once (like release film and breather, mixing cups and brushes, packaging, etc). Then there's the time, each one takes approximately 3 hours to fabricate, trim, paint and assemble. |

3rd Brake Light *Low Profile Carbon Fiber (OMG CARBON)
That's fair pricing. At that price, your margins are well below the industry standard.
Mark me down as sold. I'll pay full price to support a new product, and you, in your endeavor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
