Hahaha, ok the @GeeTee86 price can be double the normal price, that should help with the temptation . Jokes.

Agreed though, its probably my personal favorite. I like the OEM look and the thought that went into the design, low COG, heat out the engine bay etc.

@ Dammod,

Does the R55k kit include AVO base map? I was reading the AVO kit installation guide and it seems like the guide also guides the installer how to install the base map.

Since you introduced this kit, I've never stopped wet dreaming about it. But I can't afford it yet. I'm even thinking of selling my second car but my family would kill me for that

But I'll eventually save enough money to install it and the good news is, my warranty will be expired by the time I install it, so I'll be doing it with nothing to loose.

Another noobish question;

Will Toyota agree to perform normal maintenance on the engine? (Safe from turbo bits of course).
I'm aware that the turbo seems to be out out the way which probably means less obstruction for regular maintenance.

You need to have a good relationship with your Toyota service manager.

I have no problems at all with my dealer. When I take my car in for service, he prints out the service sheet, and I make ticks and crosses for what they must do and what not, and add on extras that I want them to do at my cost.

eg: Typically I don't let them touch my air filter, brakes, suspension, supercharger and exhaust which I do myself, and I normally ask them to change the gearbox and diff oil with each service at my cost. Also, they change my engine oil and oil filter every 7500 kms between normal services also at my cost (because I track my car a lot).

Hi Shadeslayer,

Haha, I know how you feel! Its an awesome piece of kit!

You are 100% correct, the kit does include an ECUtek map at no extra cost.
This would however require you to buy an ECUtek licence and cable at $795 and although its a safe map for 91 US fuel, it wont quite cut it for our fuel hence us preferring to custom tune the car for you - which works out far cheaper anyway.

With regards to your last question, @Fish Eagle is on the money.
From what I have heard, Toyota, Subaru will honor your service plan but not wear and tear items which are normally included in the maintenance plan (brakes/clutch).

I think it all depends on your dealer though, some might honour everything and others might cancel it all. The best bet would be for you to get in writing what they will and will not honour.

If they decide to let you keep your service plan, then you might be able to negotiate them using a different oil which is more specific to turbo charged applications and perhaps just paying the difference.

I hope this helps
