People's Reaction to Your New FR-S

WRX drivers are probably a little less likely to say anything as they are usually owned by older folks. STi's on the other hand are owned by younger/race minded individuals.

Well, the 7th gen Celica GT-S was a pretty hot car for the time.

Driving home on the interstate last night I was following my wife in her Soul and some F-150 flew passed me and slowed down when they got to her which was about 8 car lengths infront of me. They slowed down and got about 3-4 car lengths behind me and the passenger had his head out the window and was snapping pictures with his phone and then they sped back up and gave me a thumbs up and rode off.

Everyone seems to have a different opinion on what car this is and what it looks like. Heard at a meet yesterday:

"Looks sort of like a Maserati."
"Is that the new tC?"
"Is that the new Celica?"
"Looks like a Porsche."

Im sure there were others, I should start writing these down as I hear them, lol.

Most people tell me it looks like a Z from the front (I can see that with the similar emblem at a distance). I think the side looks like a BMW 1-series coupe a little, especially with the wheels. The back looks kind of like the Z4 or the new NSX.

I got a pretty crazy one yesterday when I went to the store for some ice cream. I SWEAR I'm telling the truth on this one.
After I came out this older women comes running up to me as I get in the car.

I'm paraphrasing here;
Woman:
"Some guy in a green mini van followed you into the parking lot, as soon as he went inside he started taking pictures of the car."
Me:
"Oh Really"
Her:
"Yeah, do you think you might have a stalker? He was acting really weird, he got really low and was taking pictures"
Me:
"Yeah I'm sure it is fine, they are probably just checking out the car"
Her:
"Are you sure, I wrote down their licence plates just in case?"
Shows me the napkin with the licence plate number

"LOL, I'm sure, its been happening to me all week. People are just really excited to see the car, it just came out and I think this one is the first in town"

"Oh, okay, just trying to be a good samaritan, it's a really hot car by the way!"

She proceeds to get back on the phone that she was holding in her hand while talking to me. Turns out she was on the phone to the police!
I just kind of laughed and drove off.

I haven't gotten all that much attention until just now. Pulled into Sunoco to fill it up for the first time.

I barely get the gas cap off and I hear "hey man, how do you like it?". Spend about five minutes talking to a very nice guy about it (he has a tC, first gen, like mine).

Go back to filling up the car. Had to reswipe my card as it timed out. I'm about done and the gas station clerk comes running out. "Hey, can I look inside?" Sure, go ahead. We talk for a couple of minutes before he heads back inside.

Wild.

Many people check car. I attire attention of many sport car people. 3 people with different kind of car comme to speak with me. Acura, audi , mr2.

Some do acknowledge. Some don't. We have lots of WRXs/STis in the area, and people are from all over the world, so you can't really predict anything.

This caused a small traffic jam on my street 1 Jun...I get many looks, bunch of people speeding to catch up, but no snide somments from anyone. Since I drive it like a baby...hasn't been over 70 and I don't race off the line.

Mine's the ultramarine 6mt, the BR-Z is a friend of mine.

Always get ally of people looking at me or some do a double take on my car. It's funny just seeing how people react to the Frs. I went to the mall the other day and as I was driving out I had 8 people stop and watch me back out and drive away. lol its crazy the attention u get with the Frs but I love it.

Found it funny today on the way home I had an 2012 Si come up beside me and say "nice car!" I wanted to tell him thanks, I traded my 08 in for it but I decided not to haha.

same thing happened to me today except the kid was in an Integra. Looked over gave the thumbs up and said nice car. I replied with a thumbs up and a thanks. I wish I had a hat so that I could tip it to him.
