Damn son... I'm jealous... when I was 16 I drove a 1997 toyota avalon with 120K miles... I had to wait till I was 17 and made Eagle scout for my parents to buy me a 2006 Mustang GT...

Hope you enjoy it!

Being 16 and trying to test drive cars sucks. Bring your parents with and theyl take you more seriously.

Unless you go in a nice car... that bullshit will always happen... had to borrow my dad's M3 for the salespeople to even notice me... went in my car a week earlier and was completely ignored

Hey, bought mine for cash and they still did a credit report.

Bureaucrats. They have a script they don't deviate from.

Noticed I had a damn high number though. Made them give me a copy.

Just don't get a big head. My parents bought me a 2004 Lexus IS300 when I was 15 that was just a little less than the cost of an FR-S now. 32 days after I got my license I wrapped it around a telephone poll.

Remember that if they do help you in any way to stay respectful to them and the car. That's the only thing I wish I had done differently. Plus, you could go from an FR-S to a
super haggard 300,000 miles Accord. Ask me how I know.

Good Luck!

Yep... always respect the car, I had 300hp under my right foot at the age of 17 when my parents got me a mustang and dropped down to 225hp, but in my case it was my own decision to get rid of it.

I would get the Focus ST if that's what you're refering to. It's more practical and also very fun for a fwd. You can haul your friends in it and you won't lose stop light races in it as much as the fr-s, lol You can say you don't do that kind of stupid shit but we're being honest, stop light racing if run between friends who are only doing it for fun and it's even more fun if you win...

Don't mean to jack the thread but at the moment, I'm 18 and driving a Toyota Tacoma. Looking to make the switch to the Fr-s also. I'm paying for the car, if I do decide to purchase, but the first thing I need to know is how much insurance will be. Can anyone give input on insurance for an 18 year old with an Fr-s, without any wrecks or tickets (knock on wood)? Might help the OP out as well, as it is something he will also have to look into.

Good luck on the purchase OP!
