210whp isn't gonna light anyone's pants on fire. Aren't people close to that NA on E85? The whole point of the PD blower is that is feels NA. I guess they forgot the part where its supposed to make a bunch more power than an NA setup .

So please compare apple to apple.

Add header back ehaust, filter and E85 tune to that kit and see where it bring it
Then only you are comparing apple to apple

LET'S NOT FORGET with a supercharger you can get UEL headers! I know some turbo kit has a UEL manifold, but from my limited knowledge I know that isn't the best for the turbo. No problems here. You can have a much faster car that sounds great and an engine bay to KILL for. I mean just LOOK at it!

I was comparing an NA build, aka exhaust intake tune etc. I'm not suggesting a stock 86 makes 210whp.

I heartily disagree with this above statement
my Centri feels like a big NA motor, linear power

PD will feel very different than NA, more like TC, non linear power

the charts say it, dont believe me!

I've ordered the FA20Club EL Header and plan to dyno my car after. I have an AEM Intake and Unichip. I'm hoping to make 185-190whp on 93 octane. I'm guessing with E85, it would be closer to 205whp. I just don't have access to E85.

Also Japanese tuners are notorious for releasing under powered kits to the public. I'm sure tuners here will find ways to eek out some extra ponies. My minimum would be 250whp to shell out $4-5K.

Looks like a Rotrex kit might be more attractive. I have no issue with the Vortech kit but it's much more complicated of an install than it should be.

unlike a Centri you can NOT go simply adding pulley upgrades to a PD the same way you can do things to a centri, what we saw Vortech do for us was an impeller upgrade that got us 9-14psi, same housing, new tune and pulley, and bam, 300whp-fact, this not just Vortech, applies to HKS too, both SC have 300whp dynos on this site

I for one am skeptical that sub 500cfm will get you past 9psi( a softish 240-250 seems to be what I expect with that PSI on a sc with drag)...so I am not sure how tuners will eek out a few more ponies. You'll need more air, that is why the curve drops after 5600 rpm, the bigger of the two screws have reached its limit-each screw has a much narrower bands of use, again see TQ chart from japan, you can see each screw's 'sweet spot'. Centri graph has a wider delivery band but you dont get the TQ you get down low like PD. If I lived in NYC, I think I'd be all over the PD
out here in open country the top end is what I like. we all have our preferences, some are geography based! I like the rush as I approach redline!

what do you find complicating about the install? most SC are easier than installing most turbo kits-my opinion...is there a kit thats EASIER to install? This kit involves pulling the manifold, the Centri kits dont require this at all. ALl these kits will make u pull the bumper to put in FMIC, nothing complicated that a $100 craftsman tool kit wont do, with a 6 pack and an afternoons work

I was considering this kit for my wifes car but after seeing the charts, I'm now looking at TC setups, and optionally a 2nd Vortech kit for our 2nd BRZ..

Your location says Fairfax VA...if so there is an E85 station in Ashburn VA, bit of a hike but not too bad.

Yeah it's "around" but not convenient and my BRZ is my DD. I'm not driving 25mins to get gas. If it was like 5mins out of my way I would. I just don't care enough.

Interesting on the cfm flow, I haven't looked into that much.

I watched the install video (Vortech). If I remember right you have to cut the alternator bracket and really the whole pulley system is over engineered. I forgot do you have to relocate the washer fluid? I just remember watching and thinking, I'm a basic tool driveway installer and it looks like I'd need a few things I didn't have. I want something that you can bolt on in a driveway in a day and have up and running.

The kits are very complete and with a little patience it's pretty easy. Pulling a trans is way harder. If you can read you can do this period.

Bolting on the Bullet unit looks way more complex you have to remove the whole intake manifold.

It's worth it and you don't have to run it all the time anyways. Not sure if Unichip has E85 capability yet though.
