Rooted it last night. I've been trying to set it up outside of my car so that I can just toss it in without having to bullshit inside. Going well so far.

Haven't pulled the trigger on it yet. I'm on the fence between a single din + nexus 7 or this.

I think this would be the better option if we can get ICS or JB but I already have the single din and tablet lying around so sort of just in a general holding pattern unfortunately.

Had in interesting moment a couple days ago. I started the car, put it in reverse while the HU was still booting(like usual), the reverse camera came on(like usual), when i put the car into 1st(usually the reverse cam goes off) it stayed on almost like a background, but it certainly didn't look right as the android loading screen thing was still in the center(reverse sitting behind it). I put the car back in R and it went back to JUST the R-cam. Then back into 1st and it was back to normal.

Nothing too crazy, just kinda odd. I"ll let you know if it happens again.

Well would you be using the tablet for all your music and stuff? or just torque and nav?

Sort of both. But the more I look into it using the nexus 7 I wouldn't get good enough sound quality out for what I'm building. Tablet would send audio to single din either usb or 3.5mm

How is the cafi for Sq? Is there sufficient tuning options? I'm installing a system of focal components and amps for midst and highs and then hertz subs with a mosconi amp for the low end. Hoping to finish the install in a few weeks once it's warmer.

Well, that's where I was going. The DAC and interfacing on the Nexus 7 would suck for a car.

The stock apps on the knockoff have decent options. It has H/M/L pass filters, and a 3 band EQ, but you can easily download a better EQ or player from the app store. The hardware itself, sounds decent.

I wish it had a pure digital output option. That plugged into a Bit TenD would be outstanding.

Yeah its kind of a trade off, the pioneer unit I have is awesome (one of their top head units for SQ and tuning, 9 band eq, time shift functions and lots more) so I'd always have that for playing CDs, radio, and off usb and such.

And then just use the tablet 3.5mm for like, youtube or streaming occasionally not my main listening.

The only pain is trying to mount the single din down below the HVAC. I've seen someone do it, but it won't be the easiest install and then I'm not sure how it'll look.

did you buy the antenna adapter? without it, you wont get any reception at all.

Yup. Did that and hooked up power antenna wire too. I fear something may be faulty along the way
