Why do people keep bringing up the Cayman S, the base Cayman is a better comparison at 265hp, not to mention the 1st gen which was 245hp.

That is incorrect. The shock tower bisects the engine evenly. That meaning that half of the engine is in front of the shock towers and half behind.

If you want to see what a front-midship engine looks like pop the hood on an S2000

Also, Turbowned I think you mentioned in a previous post wanting to test drive an S2000? If you think that the base Cayman is gutless down low with no torque allow me to save you the trouble. You will not like driving the S2000. The base Cayman feels like a big block compared to the S2000 below 4000 rpm.

Ehh, damn close enough if you ask me. Not a true front-midship, as the whole thing ought to be behind the shock towers, but...

That doesn't mean I wouldn't like the S2000. My MR2 is gutless under 4k rpm, too. When I drove the Cayman I was daily-driving a supercharged S4, so the mountain of low-end torque that car produces might have skewed my impressions a little

Hey no problem, just didn't want you to waste your time. BTW I don't think anyone truly falls in love with an S2000 until they drive one on a race track where you almost never fall off the big cam. In fact I always know it's time to get back to track when I started getting pissed off at the car, haha.
