and why do hamburgers never look as good in reality as they do on the menu? What's up with that? It's false advertising if I've ever seen it!

I don't really think the price difference is around 5K for the two cars... My best analogy to this is using the Matrix / Vibe... They don't jump THAT much between brands, I'd be laughing to save 2K...

Please stick to one thread if you're going to vent.

Not toyotas fault when you fall under .0001% of its target market.

I'll be honest, at first I was pissed now I am not because it seems like the price will be around 21-22k. But what if it ends up being 24-25k in the base specs we see in the pics? Would some of you die-hard fans still bite at that price?

seriously though, take the car for what it is, if its not up to your standards theres a market outside of toyota that might fill the emptiness they left you with

If your percentages were accurate, you'd be correct.

Although exterior and interior are subjective, I haven't seen anyone or heard anyone that likes the exterior/interior of the production version better than the v2 of the concept.

Wanting a turbocharged/awd FRS would put me in the <10% target audience, but this is simple asthetics. Toyota themselves have implied this car is supposed to a successor to the Supra (but more of a smaller brother because of the power differences). You cannot compare this with a car as beautiful as the Supra, the v2 concept however was worthy.

I personally LOVE the MKII version of the car, the best there is, not the one you posted however which is the FRS concept...

With that said, the car was a concept... If you expect the car to look anything like the concept, then that really is not Toyota's fault... The audience has to go in knowing that the final production WILL change...

Is the car the best out there looks wise? No... Could it be better? Yes... Will it change? No... Can I live with it? Yes... Can you? Probably not, but once again it won't change... So yeah... I do go on a rant tare when sometimes does not live up to my hype, but I know the end result usually looks like this thread here... Much like the end result is going to look different than the concept

Toyota has never said anything about this car being a Supra successor. Although the platform would be exceptional for a revival!!!

Easy to say ... hard to do, although that may be the only logical option left at this point. I can't bring myself to purchase a Kia or Hyundai, even though they are doing what Toyota used to do (taking chances and being innovative).

It's also pretty sad that Toyota has no rival to the 370z/Gtr.

Taking it for what it is, is not an issue. The car was touted as something very promising and this production version is a let down and very disappointing. I wasn't let down by the TC, because it was always "hyped" as an underpowered front wheel drive car.
