Since I was the event chair, I rarely get a chance to run the course. I did jump in for one run and get to drift the course (Bridgestone all-seasons are not fun for times) and the video wasn't too great, but I will get a linky from our other event chair on Sat.

Dang it! I didn't have it on my calendar.

I need to pay more attention. I knew it was near, but forgot the date.

Ah, that was you! haha good job! I was trying to listen in on you guy's times so I could compare (my best was a 45.1-something, which was my goal after running a 48 on my 1st run). Unfortunately, I only managed to get a couple of really crappy pics of you and the frs (I was by that long sweeper by the end) but it was hard taking pics and working the flag at the same time . Cya at the next one!

It was great to meet you this weekend Blain! Well done on your Sunday runs, you are really doing well out there

If you need anything don't be afraid to ask, I would be happy to help with set-up or driving questions. Gordon & the guys at Edge Motorworks will hook you up as well if you need parts, alignment, corner-balancing, etc!

Thanks Mark! It was good to meet you too. It was cool to see that BRZ set down some fast times. I think I was faster on Sunday because I learned a lot riding and talking with Des as he co-drove my car with me on Saturday. I'm sure I'll be needing some more driving advice and car prep soon!

Is anyone gonna go down to Marina this Sunday for UFO? I don't like the courses as much as AAS but it's either that or sit at home on the couch so I think I'm gonna go down.

I might go to the UFO event.
A little worried about the bad rep of how the UFO is run.

Side note,
I use to drift most of my cars, wasn't really any good but had fun.
Now I'm trying to run grip.
Car is stock everything except brake pads and borrowing some strut bars
I've tracked the car at Thunderhill and Laugna Seca both times with full aids on.
Then I ran at the American Auto-X last weekend with traction control off and was sliding all over the place.

I don't have a big budget.
1. I'm wondering if I should run the stock tires till they are done or upgrade to either Dunlop Z2s or Bridgestone RE-11As 225-45 17s? Tires will be track and DD. Without the strut bars this will keep me in RTR class. I'll also upgrade with the crash bolts and front sway bar.
2. I don't want to buy new rims because if I do I'd want to go with 17x9s, but that'll bump me up to STX.

I could possible afford 17x9 RPF1s tires, and sway bar, but would that not be enough for STX class?
Should I stick with my stock rims and upgrade tires or not, and would this be better to learn from than upgrading the size of tire and going to coilovers?

Strut bars are pretty much pointless. Also it's almost impossible to go fast on the stock tires. The sidewalls fold unless they have tons of air pressure but then you've killed contact patch.

If you're new to autoX don't worry about any class prep. My advice is get some decent tires (Z2s ect) and spend the rest of the summer on driver mods, not car mods.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I say if you're not trying to be competitive (like myself) just get out there and have fun

Yeah strut bars are just borrowed for fun.
I'm either going with Z2s or the RE-11As not much price difference but I think the Bridgestone's would be better daily driver if I get caught in the rain.
Hoping I can dig up some direct testing between the two.
Crap i might go with the Z2s now because i can change sides because they are symmetrical

I heard the EVO school would help teach me some stuff. Plan on taking that in June.

So I guess I'll just stick with the RTR Class, I mean because I do want to compete a little but I mostly want to focus on learning and getting better.

See you guys at ufo autox. Didn't feel much comfortable last time I came cause I dont do autox what so ever, couldn't relate...
but I'll be running this time. Gonna try and get the car sideways with this so called torsen diff. (first time gonna ever drift with the frs , i know autox isnt a good place to drift cause its narrow and short turns just need to see how it is before i swap it with a 2 way lsd) usually had welded diff on my 240 and rx7 had a clutch type lsd but we'll see how it goes.
