He said 'BRZ in his area', like actually buying one at the dealer in Cali. (+$30k)

What argument are you going to win here? He is right, but it doesnt matter because he was trying to show some simple people that you do not justly compare completely stock cars with highly modified ones.

The race in question will not be a 'bone' stock battle, but its very comparable.

Street price has no bearing on equal comparison. Once you start putting in aritficial inflation, and buddy discounts you can make any thing add up to whatever you want.

If your talking about street prices of the cars, simply order it directly from the manufactor online if dealers are trying to over charge.

You can... and people have you simply wait for it to arrive. why comment on somthing incorrectly just to seem wise?
Again, the original comment was an fr-s compared to an sti... I know for 100% you can order an fr-s online since thats how I got mine. But, we can argue it all day its fine by me lol.

You cannot buy a car from a manufacturer. And Ordering car ≠ Owning car.

I think the better comparison is who is the better driver. Only way to tell is drive your own and each others for best times. The ultimate victory is to drive his STI better than he can, but get ready to hear some excuses!

I would take a factory warrantied supercharged frs for around 30k over a Mustang gt any day. I hope when they release the trd supercharger it carries a factory warranty or they sell a trim package of the car with it installed. If it were equipped with some sticky tires and making 260ish hp it would probably give a Mustang gt a good run on a lot of tracks.
