Every decent business plan has a margin of error, granted given the number of people replying to this post saying they ordered (plus the ones that ordered and didn't reply) will probably outstrip their allocation for mistake. Still, cost of doing business.

Besides, if you saw a 20 on the sidewalk, you'd pick it up.

Run a business and don't want to lose money? Don't make stupid mistakes, don't hire incompetent people.
Simple problem. Simple solution.
It's Christmas season. I'm not going to make some businessman explain to his kids why there aren't very many presents this year because he messed up on an item on his website. Golden Rule and all that.

It's one thing to mislabel a single item in a store (I got $80 worth of 2 gauge welding wire for $30 that way once) but expecting a business to ship out 20+ free exhausts is a bit ridiculous. That's multiple thousands of dollars lost. Most small businesses can't handle that kind of blow.

I could see them shipping the first couple as a PR stunt.

I did it. I don't know why, but I did. I can't even put it on the car yet, but I guess if this works it can hang out in the garage until I buy the car. XD

But seriously, since I run a business, I know that "oh crap" moment they are going to feel when they realize their mistake. Although I'm certain nothing will be shipped for free, and I know 99% of us here ordered one for giggles, I do hope the 1% don't hassle them about this and if even one does get shipped out, I hope that person returns it or pays for it. I mean this is a struggling economy and this is somebody's hard work and money invested in a company.

On the up side, I had never heard of these guys so now they are on my radar for when I need to order parts in the future, and when I do order parts in the future I'm going to ask if I can get them for free too just to poke fun at them
Geeeeez... There's always gotta be "that_one_guy" sheesh! Just kidding! But yeah totally understandable. But yeah, Auto City Imports actually has a reputation in the n/a Lancer and Lancer Ralliart community. I got buddies on my other forum who've ordered parts from them at really good prices.

I have actually ordered all my parts so far from them. Great people and great company. I met the owner at Another Level Car Show in IL last summer when I was still in my 4G Eclipse. But since i got the FRS i stayed with them and will always go to them first.

Oh yeah and they price match or get dam close. They operate out of Michigan I believe.

If anyone needs a point of contact Alex Skatkov is ther person for any questions. He is their Subaru guy and has been my main go to guy.

Well, with their mistake also drew them some attention to this forum.. So, couldn't have been all that bad of a thing.. We know of another option for parts at competitive prices.

Product Pricing - All pricing on the site is subject change at any time without notice. The most current pricing on the site is listed although sometimes an item may reflect an older price structure. In some cases we may not be able to honor a price that is listed. If you order an item using the online checkout and the pricing reflects that of a past pricing structure you will be given the choice of canceling your order or paying the difference to cover the price difference.

From their websites terms and conditions.
