I love my gay miata... Love it so much I couldnt let it run on a spare when I got a flat... I swapped my wifes mini cooper wheels over. That car got gayer. I didnt even need a hawaiian sirt, gold necklaces, and my partner riding shotgun. Top down, of course.

Seriously. Do you spend so much time crying about every commuter car that is slower than <insert car here>? Or did you miss the part where it never pretended to be anything more than what it was? Do you even enjoy the car you have now? If so, why would you put so much energy into denouncing a car that you didn't pick? Or maybe you hate the car you drive too, but that is also you fault. Grow up and put some pants on before you realize that the car of the forum you are on has less power, less torque, and worse power to weight. And that ceasing production hardly means that it 'died'. Maybe you like old classic cars with big block v8s? They aren't in production. Did they die? Did the hate kill them off?

Maybe one day you can dig the keys to your current car out from under the couch cushions and really start driving instead of armchair racing, and maybe learn to enjoy a car for what it is instead of hating them all for what they aren't.
I think this is one of the best posts I've ever read on ft86club

I don't care what others say about my car. I have had Z3, MINI Cooper and now Miata. I must have a thing for the "hairdresser's car".
I was doing donuts and drifting figure 8s in my 1990 NA Miata earlier tonight. I don't think it looks gay going sideways in snow. Epic fun.

Not always true. My neighbor's C6 Corvette with 420ish hp could get 26-28 mpg cruising on the highway. I would take those numbers any day.

He isnt really 'playing' while getting those numbers anyway, 6th on those vettes is strictly for cruising/mpgs. Not to mention what he had to spend for the car in the first place. Have you asked him how his mpgs are when he is actually driving the car right?

I love Corvettes C5s and C6s. Beast with good gas mileage.

It's not ment to be taken seriously mate, neither is it a bash.

But just because that door was opened....

22-23mpg is a promotional point to full size trucks these days.

From an RX-8 owner... the only time I saw 20+ mpg was on long trips. Daily commuting has me into the upper teens.

So an 8 year old car is doing just fine. What were pick up's doing back then?

I'm not offended.

I rarely see 20+ too, but then it's usually because I find a deep sense of joy from burning gasoline. I even find myself deliberately burning it off the end of my tailpipes. I'm sure if I cared about my gas bill, I could make the largest increase by just not doing that part any more

But I know what I can get if I wanted to. If I had that high mileage corvette, I'm 100% sure I wouldn't be getting that high mileage either

Burning gas is just too much fun. Costs me less per month (over a boring commuter car gas cost) than my wife spends on shoes, movies, and eating out, so I think I have the better deal.
