and btw I went square setup 18x8.5 all around because going staggered will definitely give you more understeer and that's not what I want. I've spoken to others locally who went staggered and they definitely feel the handling has changed and not for the better. Coming from OEM wheels & tires of course any stickier rubber will give you better grip overall but at the limit if that matters to you, you want to keep that neutral balanced feeling. There's no doubt the staggered looks better, but I would rather enjoy driving it than looking at it.
omg! please post ur pics! I have WRB and going to get raijin in flat black too. I was considering hyper silver.

..either way, but the hyper silver will make the car look luxury like oem for this car. I know black is like a trend everywhere but don't know it can last. I just installed silver on mine. love the look.

I went flat back staggered. 225 on the front and 255 on the back. I don't feel staggered ruins the handling, but it is a lot harder to fishtail now. Main reason I went black was because I liked how it matched the front lip.

I love my Raijins. I have exactly what you are considering 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 with 245/265 tires.
As others have stated, staggered on't help the understeer, but I never push my car to the limit on the street, so I went for looks.

If I don't sell my OEM wheels and tires, I plan to put some sticky tires on them for AX/track use.

Is there a huge difference between the gunmetal and hyper silver finish? I'm torn between the two and I have a red 86 but am planning on playing with vinyl colors later on.

I'm also looking for Enkeis but I saw in tirerack that 18x8.5 is 21lbs while the TSW Nurburgrings 18x8.5 are only 19.5lbs. Enkeis have MAT technology while TSW is rotary forged (I guess the strength of these are somewhere in between cast and forged). Stock Wheel weight at 17x7 is 21lbs.

From what Ive seen, MAT and rotary forging are pretty much the same thing. Just different names from different companies.

I was looking at the Nurburgring but couldn't get them in wider than 8.5, so that was a no go for me.

What color are you getting in the Enkeis? I haven't seen it in person. I was assured that the hyper silver looks better in person, but the gunmetals look good on pictures. The black ones I can always have powder coated or plasti dipped by a pro if I do decide to change colors later on so I'm not considering it because others are more flexible for for now.

WOW!! Now all tires are proportinately concave. How's the ride though? Does it steer heavier? Does the car feel heavier?
