Looks pretty good so far. I also agree that the gauges would be better placed higher up, and the entertainment display dropped down (example below). Still, this does look a lot better than the previous model's console area.
IS300 interior. ![]() ![]() I wonder what the center console for the V6 model is going to look like since it won't need a boost gauge and so forth. Or will they just replace the boost gauge with a clock?

Hyundai is very fast! They have a lot of the elements of the FT86. Toyota and Subaru know what they're doing and they will neutralize Hyundai.

New GC only matters if it gets the 274hp turbo engine.

Hahaha.
If this Gen Coupe update and the Veloster are a sign of Hyundais' sporty front end styling then I'm not buying into it either. They did something unique with the fogs light housing with a bunch of random lines and creases. Unfortunately mixed with the grill/lower vent it's not subtle or smooth, just busy. Before you dismiss me as a Hyundai Hater. I really like the styling of the Elantra. The Sonata and Accent aren't bad either. |

If that is the official new front end and with all the official FRS numbers still up in the air this is where I stand as of right now.
w/o 274hp GC <------X----|----------> FRS w/ 274hp GC <X---------|----------> FRS The ball is really in Toyota's court, but the 274hp engine can really seal the deal. There are a lot of if's though. If the FRS comes in looking anywhere near as sexy as the FRS or Mk2 concepts that would definitely give it a few bonus points. If the FRS can be had for >$20k, more bonus points. If the FRS weighs in under 2700#s, more bonus points.

The one thing that bothers me about the new GC front end is that the head lights look abit chunky....
The grills look sexy but the headlights are meh. i duno. could grow on me.

I dig that look on the Veloster, and I think the Elantra and Sonata are downright sexy, but those pictures are just not flattering on a sporting coupe IMO. Well, at least I can cross it off my shopping list now, especially if it keeps the pigfat.

It's a very bold move from Hyundai's design department. I think there's a fine line between aggressive and ugly. Sort of reminds me of the EvoX meets Nemesis.

I think when I see it in person I may like it more than the current one.
The extra vents on the sides of the grill is a bit over-done for me...
