If Subaru will not include the BRZ in the VIP program, then the dealer would have to eat that difference themselves. Not saying they won't, but I am doubtful. Just a FYI.
We'll see what happens. I had a miniature discussion with him today.

If he decides to screw me over I can speak with a different rep. 7 guaranteed buyers is definitely going to put him somewhere. Lol If he doesn't meet demands.. he loses all 7. + some.

No doubt you would break his little pinky if he screwed you over. Just thought I would give you a heads up regarding the VIP pricing as it isn't a guarantee yet until Subaru says it is.

Ah ha, thank you for the information Giccin/Momo/Monique :P

I'll shoot him an email and wonder how this is going to work. Not sure how a 500 dollar deposit would work either if I'm not that close. Oh well, time to figure things out

Thanks again Momo!
Gonna talk to my pops about this, later today.

SIDE NOTE:

I believe i only told Rrnold this, but my dad happens to know a lady who works in finance for Toyota/Scion/Lexus and she spoke to my uncle (ex-boyfriend) saying that Scion is releasing their version in MARCH. Now, im not 100% sure about this but she seems to know a good amount about the car because her son apparently is looking for it as well.
So, I guess if I'm not 100% sold on the FRS's overall look, then I'll wait 2 months (in May apparently) and go the BRZ route for sure.

But im certain I'll still purchase the BRZ, just letting those who are on the fence between the 2 brands know what I heard. I don't want to post it up on the General info section because im not sure that info is accurate.

Edit: UPDATE

Ok just got off the phone with the guy from Puente Hills subaru. His name is Frank (frank@puentehillssubaru.com). If you guys have any questions with him you can ask him directly regarding finances.

Talk with him if you want to put a $500 deposit for your BRZ and he'll get what you want. He told me its an outlet so he'll price match or beat any prices from any other subaru.

As of right now. He told me it will be $300 ABOVE INVOICE for the car if its 24k assuming you'll pay $24,300 if its like that....

I told him that we're all forum members. We've read up on all the price settings and all of its specs (meaning I mentioned that the premium AND limited edition ranges from 24-27k) and I asked him to confirm with me if that was going to be the estimated price for the car. He DOES TAKE the subaru VIP program. Once the offical pricing comes up again. I will haggle the price as lowest as I best can.

For those who don't want to read...
- Dealer knows about our group buy (if you mention my name "monique" to Frank in the e-mail he'll start talking to you more indepth about the deal) If by any chance he starts to skew away from what you want. Give me a heads up. And send me a copy of the e-mail so I can confront his ass if he decides to lie or starts to go away from what we're after.
- He is taking $500 deposits right now.
- He is upholding the subaru VIP program.
- He is willing to go lower for the car if you can prove to him that the other Subaru dealer is also going low (in price) for the car.

I'll start calling him again if we could get some bonus extras once we get closer to the arrival date of the car (meaning oil changes, warrenty, maintences etc.)

edit2: I know those who call me Momo are wondering.. wut? real name is Monique!?! Y U NO SAY? Well I go by 2 names. Monique being my french name and momo being my Japanese. Momo is the name my friends call me. So right now. You guys are friends. ;p

Edit 3: I plan on calling 2 more subaru dealers to see what they can do.

Edit 4: source
What is invoice price?

Invoice price is the price a car dealer pays to the manufacturer for each vehicle he buys. The price is the same for every dealer across the U.S. for the same car.
Invoice price is only one of a number of costs that dealers pay.
Thank you for the info! I will try to look for Frank this week.

Thanks Momo for getting the ball rolling on this. Does this mean each of us must individually contact him to get something going?

Also, what is the latest time we can participate in this? I want to see Subaru's pricing and options levels for certain before I commit to buy.

Giccin, you rock too hard! Anyone told you that?

Thanks so much for all your work on this group buy. If anything this might turn out to be the first official meetup. ( where we all have cars )

Hi, I don't post much, but i read the forums A LOT. I'm interested in this, but as a buyer after the first year (going to leave the country to teach english for a year). though I don't post much, i read the forums EVERY DAY. Don't list me as a buyer yet (I will get the car, just not sure which of the two), I'll contact you guys when it gets closer to the date.

I originally wanted the scion because I was always a fan of toyota, but I'm not sure if i can say no to the subaru blue!
Good luck to you all! I hope you get what you all want ^.^y

Don't contact him just yet but if you have questions give him a heads up. I'm going to talk with another rep once finals are over to see what she says. (thanks R4m3n!). She was pretty mean to him.. so I'll be mean to her. LOL Or I'll talk to another one of her dealers. ;p

Latest is probably February but I wouldn't say that would be latest. Since I already have a solid number the dealers will have to bend over backwards. Once the numbers get bigger I can probably push for more discounts.

Closer the date of release.. the better the numbers I can get. I really could care less about dealer's and their pockets so I really have no problem of making them feel like shit. Lol

lol... i wouldn't say she was mean to me. just sounded cranky and highly suspect when i talked to her over the phone and mentioned our current negotiated deal with PH Subaru. plus i'm no good at negotiating something like this but she did seem more than willing to assist in earning our business. My friend at KBB referred me to her and he got his WRX at invoice + 2% there.

Momo-- so you're saying we shouldn't talk to Frank at the moment? He replied to my email and confirmed that the $500 deposit is refundable at anytime should I decide to cancel my pre-order. I may drop on by the dealership to talk to him in person today since I'll be in the area. Should I hold off on this until you talk to Irvine Subaru then?

You can mention what you want with him. Don't mention how much you'll put down as a Down payment or how much you'll pay per month.

if you can drop by in person go for it! Even better.

Thanks momo!

If I show up there, I'll probably put in my deposit just to lock in on the offer for now. Can always cancel it so why not?

Also let me know if you want to meet up and go together when you visit Irvine Subaru.
