I have BRZ001 booked as the first NZ purchaser via SNZ. They have twelve cars for sale with personalised plates "...001 through 012" sold with each car.

As per that thread Staticfrost pointed to, I have "FT86" in Qld. Accepting offers on them too if anyone is interested since I'm not getting an 86 any more.

Nah I haven't bought anything yet Mike. Might end up going for a twincharged Tiguan actually. Thought the 1.4L might be a bit sluggish but it's actually quite reasonable. I've already had some conversations with dealers and the great finance rate + extended factory warranty being thrown in isn't a problem either. Being a VW it gets a bit of office bitch cred too...
Still a bit disappointed that my head is ruling in this decision but at the end of the day, Toyota Australia made it easier for me. Putting statements out to media that the 86 has "sold out" despite no one knowing an RRP, and having taken only very lose deposits (subject to RRP and test drive), reminded me that Toyota Australia is full of crap and just about the sales. All they care about is the sales and creating demand to the mainstream. They've managed to turn me from someone who'd defend the brand into a detractor. Also there's the practicality side of things, but I could have lived with that. My car after the next might be a Toyota but they've got a lot to do to make it up to me. |

Yank here, excuse me for wandering in. So, in your neck of the woods people can reserve plates and other people have to pay for them, like Internet domains? Am I understanding that right? |

would be awesome if i got custom plates, but cost too much (for me anyways), i might get it later down the track. thinking of puting D-AT6 (get it?) its D for Dave - Automatic 6 and it could also mean "The(D) 86(A T 6)"

I have 2 (Vic) plates at the moment.
Because there are 2 versions of the 86, the GT and GTS (GTS being the high spec) I have 'GTS-086'. I have the GTS version of the 86 on order. I also have 'THE-86' my faves! FYI, I'm trying to sell my 'GTS-086' number plates in another forum... http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7844 |

Has anyone seen how the plates sit on the car? Should we be ordering slimline or are the regular ones fine?
