Hell, just in the past week I've had three separate opportunities to buy the FRS but chose to wait. Once in Austin, once in round rock, and once in Dallas.
I know. I am just getting impatient because I need a new car in a bad way. I have a long commute and my truck is not very reliable.

Well, hop on autotrader and cars.com and start searching for an FRS. I'd set the distance to be 200+ miles so you can get Houston results too, it seems they are getting more than their fair share of allocation.

An over the telephone deposit should be all it takes to reserve the car until you can show up and test drive. The guy in dallas seemed pretty eager to get me to put $500 down over the phone.

Edit: the great thing about scion is that it makes over the phone deals super easy. They have to sell it to you for what they advertise so you don't drive 3 hours only to find a hidden market adjustment when you get there.

I just realized there was a SA thread in the SW regional forum, haha. I'm a proud owner of a WRBP BRZ premium that I picked up from my hometown of Oklahoma City on June 2nd, so if anyone has seen one on Lackland or on the NW side of town then that's me.

Didn't really ask any other details on phone as I was on the road and showed up at the dealer within a few minutes. Buying a BRZ is almost like the old Soviet style "waiting list" procedure and I feel like I am dealing with the mafia with this "market adjustment" crap!!! Oh, well. Patience and delayed gratification is a virtue.....crap.....I WANT A BRZ!!!!!
$3k markup and non-refundable deposit? They on crack too! Gillman Subaru you are on the bad watch list! Now we know why that person dropped out...

I'm sure they are charging that to the new buyer, and most likely weren't charging the original person that. North Park is doing the same thing. If anyone drops out, they are charging a 5k mark up if someone else wants it.

Hey fellow central Texans - we're putting together an 86 racing course at Driveway Austin in August and wanted to make sure you all knew about it if you're interested in making the trip up the 35. The official thread is here, hope to see some of you there!
