I'm sorry, but while the swimmer shot looks good, those other two HDR shots look like crap to me, just like most HDR shots I've seen. The whole point is to capture the full dynamic range, but when you don't even have that dynamic of a range (like in the motorcycle and cityscape shots), then makes everything look fake. That's just my opinion though. It's also my opinion that most people who rely on HDR haven't even cracked the tip of the iceberg when it comes to photography in general.

^ I get what you're saying but the fact is this is a scanned article and Pop. Photo could have chosen a better example.
I don't mind the chopper pic, I actually like that one, but it does look fake I'll admit.
The night scene shot just looks over done.

Hey not to throw the line of conversation off too much, but I was thinking of getting a Sony NEX 5N. Any alternative choices, cons, details that can help me?

Is it a good camera?

(I mostly want it when I go on vacations, lots of indoor shots, maybe take some pics of cars, photoshop them hehe. Nothing too professional.

This one is a much better example, since the light coming in and the dark of the interior actually does create a necessity for HDR.

Here's one of my favorite nature photographers, who really does HDRs extremely well:

I don't have any personal experience with it, but DPReview is my favorite camera review site, and they rated that camera very high!
